Etotongwe Lodge

Aangekomen bij de lodge was er eigenlijk niemand om je in te checken. Dat was trouwens de rode draad bij deze lodge, een receptie die vaak onbemand is. Wij waren tijdens een groepsreis eerder in deze lodge, in 2018. Veel is er niet veranderd. De medewerkers zijn niet heel vriendelijk en klantgericht. De kamer is groot, schoon en heeft alles wat je nodig mocht hebben. Ze zijn wel ontzettend gehorig. Onze buren hadden tot half vier ‘‘s nachts de TV erg hard staan en dan is slapen moeilijk. Zeker als je de volgende dag lang moet rijden. En dan gaan ook vroeg weer allerlei trucks op pad dus je bent weer op tijd wakker. De bedden liggen goed en de airco werkt prima. Er is een mooie tuin. Het ontbijt is ook prima. Kortom, prima voor één nacht maar de nachtrust is afhankelijk van je buren.

Abbiamo soggiornato presso il Camp-site della struttura, visto l'estrema basicità del complesso , abbiamo chiesto se possibile effettuare un upgrade a stanza , ma purtroppo il lodge era sold out . I bagni in comune sono puliti, come la zona cucina. La piazzola presenta un punto barbecu ed una presa per l'acqua. nota un pò negativa sono i rumori notturni, in quanto la struttura sia vicina a strade primarie , dove transitano tutta notte mezzi pesanti ed auto ... abbiamo dormito tutta notte con decine di cani che abbaiavano incessantemente ... dunque consiglio la scelta di una camera ...

Although this lodge is 100km away from Etosha (about an hour) it was still a great place to stay. The staff here were just lovely, friendly and helpful - especially after we discovered a large spider in our room. We were able to park very close to our lodge which meant it was easy to load up with cameras etc for our game drives in Etosha. On our first night there weren't many visitors and got to order from the main menu - I had an amazing pizza. For the following few nights a coach party of German people had booked in and the meals on the following nights were both buffet style meals that featured German food - not too much of an issue though as we managed to find something each mealtime that we liked. The take away breakfast option was great an allowed us to make an early start visiting Etosha. One evening we had a visit for a local group of singers that were excellent, although we wish we'd have known in advance as we didn't have a lot of money on us to give them a fair tip. I found the lights throughout amusing - they looked like the ghosts from PacMan. Service was a little a slow at times, especially when ordering drinks which had to be brought up from the bar area to the restaurant. This seemed to be an issue with the limited number of staff trying to accommodate such a large coach party as well as other guests.

Great location only 1 hour from etosha Park entrance. Super friendly staff, pool and comfortable rooms. Would definitely stay again, very affordable. We were also able to book a game drive through the lodge.

We needed a place to stay and were not in a position for much choice. The campsite was absolutely fine. I had to report that the toilet was not working, water was on the floor, but this was attended to quickly. As it is near the town, the quarry works are very noisy and peace and the beautiful sunsets can only be appreciated later in the day. PS the coffee shop in OUTJO is great.

Après avoir passé du temps à la chasse aux animaux dans le parc de Etosha, ce lodge à proximité permet de se reposer. Le site de camping offre des emplacements ombragés et couverts pour l'espace de prise de repas. Les sanitaires sont en bon état et les douches spacieuses. Pour ceux qui le désire, le site possède un bar avec WiFi tout en permettant de se désaltérer confortablement.
