Channel Island Shores

Good place to stay for Channel Islands Very comfortable stay. Neighbors ignored the smoking ban which was unfortunate. Very easy to book and check in. Responsive to us in every way.

I was initially hesitant about booking this place, as the reviews and pictures didn’t quite capture what I was expecting. However, I decided to give it a try, and I’m glad I did. I reserved a two-bedroom, 1.5-bath apartment that comfortably accommodated three of us, and it could easily host a family of six thanks to its spacious layout and a convenient pullout couch downstairs. The amenities exceeded my expectations—shower pressure was excellent, making quick and refreshing showers easy especially if you’re a big group. The condo includes utilities for four people, with plenty of towels provided (Thanks Tina). While there’s no air conditioning, the ocean breeze just a block away kept the unit comfortably cool throughout our stay. A nice bonus was having a hot tub in each unit, perfect for relaxing evenings. Parking was also straightforward, with one dedicated spot included. A heads-up for warmer months: if you’re sensitive to heat, keep in mind that summer temperatures can get quite hot, and the unit might feel warm without A/C. Additionally, because of the communal setup, it can get quite loud—sounds from neighboring units are audible—so don’t forget your earplugs if you value quiet. Off-season, this spot is ideal for friends’ getaways or a quick romantic escape. Overall, a charming and practical choice that offers great value and a fantastic location near the ocean.

Was a wonderful stay!! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The rooms were nice and clean, and we even had a hot tub which was a great plus!!! Will absolutely come back to stay again when I am in town. 10/10 would recommend!!!!!

Walk to beach, Special birthday touches! We had such a wonderful time staying at Channel Island Shores! This was our 2nd visit and before our stay, Tina asked if we were celebrating anything so I mentioned that we were visiting Oxnard because my son wanted to go fishing for his 13th birthday. My daughter was also celebrating her 8th birthday as well. She asked me to send her a photo of them and when we arrived, they had a special birthday set up on the dining table. It was a framed photo, birthday button, and a special message written for them. It was a nice touch and it made us feel special! Thank you so much to the staff there for this special birthday decoration! We stayed in the 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath unit. The units are not super fancy, but they are spacious and have the basic necessities you would need to cook your meals. During our first stay, we were lucky enough to get a complementary upgrade in a 3 bedroom, 3 bath unit that you can only reserve if you are an owner. Having the extra bathrooms/showers was really nice when we got that, but the 2 bedroom still worked well for our family of 6. I definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for an affordable place that is within walking distance to the beach. You can’t beat it!
