Allegra House

Upscale B&B with a great atmosphere and lovely hosts We stayed here for two nights as part of our short round trip. We were warmly welcomed and greeted in our native language right away, which we found very pleasant. Heinz and Brita (originally from Switzerland and UK) have plenty of useful tips if you’re looking for things to do or places to eat. The room we had was excellently equipped and offered a fantastic view of Paihia and the Bay of Islands—absolutely priceless. The entire house is situated on one of the hills surrounding Paihia, overlooking the bay. A generous breakfast was included and, as is common with B&Bs, we had the opportunity to meet other guests during breakfast. It’s served at a large table in Heinz and Brita’s apartment, which also has a great view. If you prefer, you're of course welcome to cater for yourself. Wi-Fi is included, and there’s plenty of parking available. Paihia’s restaurant scene offers something for every taste—even fine dining. It’s also a great base for excursions into the Bay or further north, and Allegra is particularly well-suited for that. We really enjoyed our stay. We would return to Allegra at any time without hesitation.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely delightful. The breathtaking view set the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway, and our room was spotlessly clean, cozy, and comfortable. The real highlight of our visit was the warmth and kindness of our hosts, Brita and Heinz. Their hospitality made us feel truly welcome, and their delicious breakfast was the perfect way to start each day. Without a doubt, we will be returning the next time we visit Paihia!

Brita and Heinz were the perfect hosts. Our spacious room with ensuite overlooked the Bay of Islands. Breakfast each morning was the best ever. So many choices. And Heinz made the best scrambled eggs! Allegra House is only a few minutes from the town centre and ferries to the islands.

We had a fabulous stay here, our wonderful hosts Heinz and Brita provide a premium B&B experience. A good selection for breakfast, enhanced by Heinz’s homemade bread and stimulating conversation with our hosts and fellow guests. Comfortable room with amazing views over the bay of islands from the balcony, loved waking to the tropical birdsong in the morning. Heinz and Brita were so helpful, not only with choosing best places to visit in the area but knowledgeable about all of New Zealand. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Fro being greeted by Heinz it was a pleasure to stay at Allegra house .Extremely friendly and helpful . it is a beautiful property we stayed in a top suite for 4 nights . It was an extremely comfortable stay every thing you could ask for . View was stunning , and Breakfast was wonderful special the home made bread . Sitting and chatting with other guests Brita was a joy to chat with . We hope to stay again when Visiting Paihia. Die Gastgeber Brita und Heinz überzeugen mit Freundlichkeit und ausgeprägter Gastfreundschaft. Beim leckeren Frühstück mit viel frischem Obst suchen sie den Austausch mit den Gästen und geben gern hilfreiche Ausflugtipps. Die Zimmer sind picobello sauber und bieten aufgrund der Hanglage grandiose Ausblicke auf die Inselwelt der Bay of Islands. Die Ausstattung istüberaus funktionell mit großem Kühlschrank und ermöglicht die Zubereitung von Imbissen. Es ist an alles gedacht - einfach perfekt. Gern kommen wir wieder.
