A Parada Das Bestas

We stayed here during our Camino and could not have been more taken by the attention to detail, charm, and impeccable service at this beautifully renovated property. The highlight was definitely the incomparable Adalberto, who could not have been a more gracious or attentive host. Dinner was exceptional, and we'd highly recommend going a bit out of your way from central Palas de Rei to enjoy the peace of this place. It exceeded every expectation!

This is a beautifully restored property. The dining room especially is really well done. The bedrooms are comfortable and tastefully done and this is a property you really want to stay at for a few days. The food served in the dining room is very enjoyed and done to a high standard. They have a nice selection of wines at very reasonable prices. There were some very minor frustrations in the bathroom such as trying to get the right temperature on the shower (this is a very old building though so can be slightly excused) and the lack of places to hand towels and place things in the shower. That said, I would happily stay at this property again if in the area.

We stayed here during our Camino. The place is beautiful and picturesque, however, the host’s attitude towards us was not acceptable. We could barely finish our breakfast and was half way through having our coffee when we were told to get in the taxi immediately. We tried to explain that we needed to use our bathroom before departure, but was denied any more time. The host’s attitude in general was dictator-like and for us spoilt what could have been a lovely experience.
