L'Horizon Resort & Spa, Hermann Bungalows

We have come here a few times and each time it just gets better. The staff is incredible and kind. They remember the guests and give just the right level of attention. The setting is the most peaceful and yet fun vibe. Overall incredible experience. Highly recommend.

We stayed at the Hermann Bungalows over Memorial Day weekend. While the property is undeniably stunning—beautiful design, a serene atmosphere, and thoughtfully curated bungalows—the overall experience didn’t match the premium price point (over $1,000/night). The resort consistently felt understaffed. Check-in took over 20 minutes, and we saw the same delays happen to other guests throughout our stay, including at checkout. Staff were friendly but often overwhelmed or inattentive. The most frustrating part was the poolside bar and dining. Even in the premium pool area, there were only one or two people working at a time. It often took 30+ minutes to receive drinks (if they arrived at all without reminders), and food service was painfully slow—we once waited nearly two hours for a simple appetizer. Oddly, the premium pool’s bar opened later than the lower-tier pool’s, and room service ended at 9pm, which felt surprisingly early for a luxury resort. This property clearly has immense potential—its aesthetic and setting are exceptional—but the service felt more in line with a mid-tier Marriott than a five-star experience. I’d recommend it if you can find a lower rate, but at full price, I actually preferred our experience at their sister hotel, The Colony, which is marketed as a step down but delivered far better service.

Perfect in every sense. Worth every penny. Don’t think twice. You’ll regret not staying here. I’m telling you. There are many hotels, but only one Hermann Bungalows. You’ll be seeing people’s posts from here and thinking to yourself we should’ve listened to that odd review on trip advisor. Last chance, book it!
