Hotel Agora

Tres bien placé dans le quartier des Halles. Il se trouve juste à côté du Forum et au milieu de tous les commerces. C’est parfait, mais la chambre était vétuste. Une partie du Plafond était défoncé. Le Lavabo était bouché. Le Papier peint hors d’âge était taché et décollé. S’il s’agissait d’un hôtel aux tarifs bons marchés, ce serait excusable mais là on aux alentours de 150 euros la chambre !

Great location: shopping center within 2 minutes walk, a few metro stations within 2 to 5 minutes walk, any kind of restaurants are all around, laundromat within 5 minutes walk, Also, if you wish, you can walk to Louvre and Notre Dame of Paris and be there within 15 minutes. Gare Nord and Gare l'Est train stations are also very close. I needed somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes to get there from the hotel. Bed was Ok Disliked: the only power outlet I could use to charge my powerbank during the night was next to entrance door and I had to put my powerbank on the top of radiator. Not a problem during the summer, but not sure whether it would be a good idea during colder time when radiator would be heating the room up Their lift/elevator is very small and it could fit 1 person and 1 suitcase. Stairs from ground floor to the reception area are a bit steep. Overall, if I will be back to Paris(and if their price are still reasonable), I would stay there again

Bien placé aux Halles sera sa seule qualité à retenir. Chambre solo minuscule, impossible de se baisser dans la salle de bain tellement qu’elle est petite (2,5m2 pour WC, lavabo et douche, 7m2 la chambre). Mal entretenue, moisissure au plafond, traces douteuses, aménagements cassées, literie inconfortable, déco d’un autre temps. La seule chose qui a dû être changée ces 40 dernières années doit être 1 des 2 Velux. Pour 400€ 3 nuits c’est cher payer.

Don't be fooled by the pictures, the hotel is more like a 70s, 2-star. If it wasn't for the location, nobody would stay here. It is SMALL and cramped. My room was on the 6th floor but the elevator was SO small, it made me feel claustrophobic and I had to lug everything up myself. The carpets are stained, the wifi doesn't work very well, and the bed covers don't look clean. If I wasn't so exhausted and had had to stay more than one night, I would have swallowed the $180 CDN I had already paid, and gone somewhere else. Oh... and on the morning of my departure, at 5:30 am, the front desk informed me that the "taxes" hadn't been collected through ***********, and I owed them 4 Euros! Also, they never told me that they had booked a private car service to the airport for me, so when an unmarked car showed up, I had to spend 10 minutes getting them to show me proof that this was indeed a legit service. This might be good for 20-something backpackers... but an awful experience for me. And I stayed at marvelous 3-stars in Provence the week before. This hotel is one-star.
