This was the last stop on our tour of Bhutan. We’d been to Thimphu and Punakha and we spent the last 3 nights here. This is family run hotel and it reminded me of my own family’s hotel in Dublin. The warmth and welcome we received from the family and the staff was very heart warming. The room was very much in an alpine chalet style, - wooden walls & floors and magnificent views across the Paro valley. There was a very effective convection heater which kept the room nice and toasty as long as we kept the bathroom door closed. In common with the other hotels on our journey though Bhutan, this is a fairly basic hotel but we were very warm in our room and there was plenty of hot water. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well for the most part. Barking dogs are present but the white noise app on my phone was a great help whilst we slept. The shower arrangement in the bathroom was odd, I think it was a wet room but we couldn’t face the prospect of the bathroom being covered in water so we opted to have baths instead. This was quite lovely actually as the view out the bathroom windows was absolutely stunning, day or night. The food here was cracking, really really good and served with such grace and humour. The restaurant was quite cold but the hotel provided heaters which created a little oasis of warmth around us. Tea, coffee, kettle etc was provided and Wi-Fi topped out at 7.5mbps. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
