My wife and I had the absolute best time celebrating our first anniversary at Primland. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by warm, welcoming staff. We stayed in one of the Tree Houses, and our view of the Blue Ridge Mountains was stunning. Everything was perfect, from the property, to the people, to the food (all three restaurants are fantastic), and the activities. Special shoutout to Cameron--we spent a lot of time with him over the course of our stay, and he was a pleasure to be around. We also loved our many interactions with Jarad; John B.; Sarah, Kristin, Maddie, and Rhonda at the front desk; Alexus, Cricket, and Molly at the Laurel Bar; Keana from Saloon; and the staff at Leatherflower. We also enjoyed two nights at the Observatory with Rani, an astronomer whose passion for the stars really added to the experience. We had an educational nature walk with Tim, rode RTVs with Noelle, and went horseback riding with Autumn, Rocky, and Champ (and Autumn's adorable dog, Scrat). This was exactly the kind of nature-based relaxation we were looking for on our anniversary--so thank you all for making our visit so special.

A wonderful getaway! My husband and I have had this on our bucket list for years and it did not disappoint! We enjoyed the golf, the spa, and the numerous hiking trails. There was so much to see and enjoy there, that we felt 2 nights was not nearly long enough. We would love to come back and enjoy some of the other outdoor offerings on the property. The food and service were great - we especially loved our dinner at Leatherflower.

I stayed in the treehouse, and it was an amazing time away to unwind. It was luxurious and wonderful! I would come back to the room to find snacks left for me there. And the breakfast brought to me in a wicker basket to enjoy while gazing at the scenery was incredible. At the end, it was hard to leave and I wish I had planned for more time.

My husband and I went to Primland for a weekend getaway at the beginning of May. We splurged and booked a Tree House, which took the experience from great to exceptional! These cabins are a little ways from the main lodge but you can call a shuttle at any time to take you back and forth. You can also walk along the road, take a hiking trail, or walk on the golf cart path (after hours) to get to the lodge. Our tree house had amazing views of the valley to be enjoyed from inside the cabin through floor to ceiling windows or from the hot tub on the deck. Although there was another cabin a few hundred feet away, it felt very private. Non-alcoholic beverages and snacks were provided, as were 2 bottles of wine from a California vineyard. A picnic breakfast was delivered both mornings, complete with orange juice and coffee. I spent my free time walking around the resort and hiking on the trails, of which there are several. My husband did a half-day fly fishing trip and raved about the guide. We would like to visit the observatory on our next trip. We ate dinner at the lodge both nights, at the bar and at in the dining room. Both meals were very good, with attentive service. The prices were reasonable, especially given that there are limited dining options in the area. There was a fire pit on the patio with s'mores supplies available for an after-dinner treat. Every employee we encountered was friendly and helpful. Someone checked in by text a few times a day and any questions were promptly answered. We are already looking forward to our next stay!

Amazing place with so many out door activities. We played golf and rode the rtv's. Friends went fishing and clay shooting. The food was wonderful along with the friendly staff. We had an amazing view from our room that overlooked the golf course.

This resort is truly a hidden gem. Luxurious and unpretentious. The service is top-notch and the food is excellent. Get the smoked trout for dinner! So many mountain activities to do as well. We especially loved the hiking on property. Absolutely loved our stay and can't wait to come back.

Our third and last time to Primland. Property and main lodge are beautiful. There are nice hiking trails, and the activities (axe throwing, RTV's), and indoor pool made the trip more enjoyable. Star gazing is a great feature, but costs $60 per person! Overall, the prices charged based on activities, unique features, etc is just excessive. For a 3 day trip for a family of 3, the cost for one lodge room, one restaurant meal/day (no alcohol), one spa treatment, and 2 outdoor activities was $7500. I am lucky to say I have taken several other luxurious vacations- for far less money and with more to do.

Primland is a luxury resort in every way. The resort is well-laid out and offers a multitude of activities and places to stay. We stayed at the Pinnacle rooms and we loved it. Although it is a walk from the main lodge, they offer shuttle to and from the rooms. We enjoyed golf, clay shooting, a moonshine tasting and a falconry tal and flight exhibit. The food was excellent with a varied menu and knowledgeable staff. We also enjoyed the family-style dinner and Bluegrass music at the Stable Saloon in a more casual atmosphere. While the resort is on 12,000 acres, the lodge isn’t too large, which was great. The atmosphere is perfect — small enough to feel comfortable, but large enough to offer diverse activities. We will be back!

Beautiful views, fun outdoor activities and delicious food! Many outdoor activities such as RTV's, archery, fly fishing, golf and clay shooting. Food was delicious and elevated. We stayed in one of the Pinnacle rooms and it was spacious with long range mountain views.
