Auranya :- the Jungle Himalayan Retreat

We went there for our wedding anniversary. A spectacular location, comfortable and aesthetically curated rooms, authentic pahadi food and absolute bliss are a few of the things you are sure to get there. If you are lucky and get to meet the owners, do not miss a chance to sit down for an enriching chat with them over the bonfire. They came to know about our special day and greeted us with a locally made bouquet and a cake in the morning (that they procured from a village 20 kilometres away). Such a beautiful gesture! They have sunrise rooms and sunset rooms. Both offer magnificent views. The sunset rooms are made in the shape of Baya nests, with skylights. We intend to stay there the next time we go. The resort is a little secluded. That's what makes it special as there is hardly any crowd. Don't expect high-octane sporting activities but if you like quiet treks, spiritually high-energy spots and meeting the locals, then this place is for you. A paradise for animal and bird lovers as you can see them around. It is well connected by road (surrounded by Jim Corbett National Park on one side and forest reserve on the other). They also have special activities for school children, yoga camps, art retreats etc. if that is of interest to you. We wanted a quiet getaway and couldn't have asked for a better place than this. The mobile signal is good. The nearest market and medical care is at Satpuli (18-20 kms away). The road after Kotdwar is very scenic. If you keep some buffer time at hand, you can stop on the way for pictures and local food. The destination is 60-70 kms ahead of Lansdowne. You can skip or come via Lansdowne. Plan your road trip accordingly.

The ultimate relax and recharge location. Nature, beauty and serenity abounds this stunning facility. We came as a family group and all were impressed with the accomodation and facilities. The quality of construction was amazing. There is plenty to do, should you wish. Walks in the jungle, walks to the river, yoga or just a refresh fro city life. We had half board, and all the meals we had were fresh and tasty. We will definitely be back!
