Quality Inn National Fairgrounds Area

While traveling from Florida to north Georgia this Quality Inn was a convenient overnight stop right off of I-75 at Exit 136. We arrived at about 10:00 pm in the dark, and right away we saw the light-up Christmas Snowmen on all the street light poles along Sam Nunn Blvd. And, even in the dark, it was noticeable that the roads were in good repair and the shrubs at the businesses looked young and well kept. And, all the fast food restaurants, gas stations, and motels looked new. We were happy to have chosen this location as an overnight stop during our road trip. On this cold December night, the heat in our second floor motel room was not turned on and no extra blankets were located in the closet. We did have blankets in our car that we used and the in-room heating unit warmed the room. The bed was comfortably firm and the pillows were soft. The hot water and the water pressure in the shower were great. At 8:00 am, we were the only guests in the breakfast area. Everything in our room and the breakfast area/front lobby was neat and clean.

The hotel was clean but could use a little TLC. Pay close attention if you book a "Queen-sized room, they list bed measurements in web side. They measure a full size not a queen. Pool is not heated so all kids are in hot tub. The biggest problem was we went to check out the next morning and everything was dark and ALL doors was locked. Could not check out or talk with anyone. We waited and finally left at 6:35am and still no free breakfast, (that's included) and doors still locked. When we checked in we was informed pool closes at 9 and breakfast at 6. I would stay here again, only if I could not find other options. Staff are very rude, when u try to ask a question they get attitude.

The quality and care of this hotel has gone completely downhill in the past 3 years. I was very disappointed that the photos of this property are as misleading as they are. Our room was not clean-behind the bathroom door was disgusting and stayed that was from Thursday night check in until we left on Sunday. We asked for the trash to be emptied and it sat full for the entire stay. The worst part was the bugs. A stink bug over the door when we walked in, a long legged bug on the ceiling, dead bugs on the floor of the bathroom and crawling bugs in the shower-constantly!! I believe the health department needs to be notified. We will not use this hotel again and the show chair for the dog show needs to be notified as well.

First, we only booked the hotel because of the big indoor pool as we wanted to enjoy it with the kids instead of being outdoors in the sun. The check in personnel was friendly and issued our first set of rooms. Neither room was cleaned yet. We were then given a second set of rooms. One was cleaned, but the other still wasn’t ready. My brother was then given another room. After that he decided to just leave because the a/c unit wasn’t working and it’s too hot not to have one, especially with kids. I wish I would have known so I could have gotten a refund since it was booked under my name. I decided to stay since it was only for a night , but was still very hesitant because the latch lock on my door was broken and there was a smashed roach on the inside of the door. I let them know about my brother upon checkout, but being the next day I didn’t expect them to address it further. Breakfast was also served with the standard Choice Hotel selection of sausage, eggs, waffles, cereal, pastries, etc and the crew was very welcoming. Overall I figured the rooms weren’t cleaned due to cleaning staff shortages since there was only one cart on the premises. But the rooms need an upgrade for the locks, a/c unit, possibly roaches. The pool and hot tub were nice and I could actually enjoy both since the pool wasn’t too cold and the tub wasn’t too hot. I would come again in the future for a nights stay.
