Apple Tree Inn, SureStay Collection by Best Western

The hotel was disgusting. There were holes in the floor. Two nights $780. Would not recommend staying here Staff was great and friendly.

So we are typically somewhat disappointed in hotels in trendy areas. It seems the more popular an area, the more a hotel can "get away with". Check in was easy and the staff was pleasant. The elevator was a bit scary. creaky and stopped a bit before reaching the floor. I was on the 4th floor so no choice but to use it a couple times when i took the luggage up and down. The room was a disappointment right off the bat. It was rather difficult to open the door. I am a big guy and could force it open, but it seemed the whole frame was sprung. The hotel is somewhat dated and worn. There were a number of dents, broken tiles, punched out screens and such in the room. My "yardstick" to complain about something is this: would I tolerate something in my home or would I fix it or pay someone to fix it? If I would not tolerate something broken in my home I will not tolerate it in a hotel. The toilet didn't flush unless you held the handle down. I don't know who installed it, but it was cockeyed against the wall. The balcony had moss growing on the carpet. It was pleasant to sit out there for a bit, but the lake view is overhyped. you can see a bit of the lake over the local hospital in the distance and the Days inn next door. the wifi was quite lame with only 2 bars at most. The room had a decent TV The bed was comfortable. The AC worked reasonably well. sleep quality was fine. it was reasonably quiet. The breakfast was fine, except the dining area was very crowded. They had a pool which we didnt use. Overall the place was OK I guess, just worn and dated.

Corner room had small balcony. Showers were cold with little pressure.

Staff was very pleasant. Good breakfast. Great location.

It was a great location and had a nice view

I would like to see a snack/drink bar added. The vending machine is not as useful as this. I always appreciate this at other hotels.
