"The guesthouse is situated within a beautiful garden. Guests can enjoy breakfast on the wooden terrace. The swimming pools are beautifully designed. A bar area provides a lovely spot to sit and enjoy a drink in the evening. The owner is happy to assist with any questions. A particular highlight is the provision of small cooler boxes for picnics in the nearby Kruger National Park. The rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, are very lovely. The bed, complete with a mosquito net, featured excellent mattresses. There is a small terrace located just outside the garden door. The staff are charming, and the dogs are adorable. The guesthouse is fenced and secure. A truly wonderful stay. "

"I spent two nights at Sunbird before entering Kruger NP. Our room was nice, quite big and located in a beautiful garden full of different plants. Breakfast was yummy, offering wide choice of tea, cereals and banana bread, before a full English breakfast was served. The location is very good, close to supermarkets and to the Kruger NP gate as well. If this is not enough, the point of strength of Sunbird Lodge is Dave, the owner, that was very helpful since I enquired for booking and, once there, gave us advice about restaurants, shops and about the road to the Olifants River cruise. I'll go there again when I'll visit Kruger next and I deeply advise this accommodation."

"While placed in an ideal location (2 min from Kruger Gate) there are other improvements needed. The staff weren’t friendly nor welcoming, the rooms weren’t entirely clean, play area and swimming pool in poor conditions. One positive thing is that the food from the restaurant is really good (a la carte). The breakfast buffet included in the room price is very limited in options. "

"We have just come back from a 4 night stay at Mbizi. We had a fantastic time with Bjorn and family. Bjorn took us out on 4 game drives and on every one we saw something epic - sleeping male lions, leopard in a tree, female lions, elephants, giraffes etc. We also did a day in the Kruger. The food was delicious with an Indian influence; cooked by Bjorns wife and other staff. The cottage was clean, in good condition, with air conditioning. The lodge is in a beautifully remote area, with only 8 guest in all, so is pretty quiet/peaceful surroundings. We loved the pool also which was cool and refreshing from the heat outside. Thank you again."
