Our Jungle Camp

Immersion dans la nature avec tous le confort nécessaire. Le camp a trouvé un très bel équilibre. Les chambres sont rustiques mais très bien pensées pour être au plus proche de la nature. Je regretterais seulement le côté tourisme de masse que l’on ressent lors des 2 activités faites dans le parc (excursion de nuit et journée au lac): c’est beau mais on est pas tout seul. Our Jungle Camp is a truly magical place, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The entire property is designed with so much love and attention to detail. The activities offered are excellent, and the guides are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We were especially impressed by our guide Boom, who won us over with her warm and cheerful personality. We spent two days with her, and she took such great care of us – always attentive, thoughtful, and full of helpful information and tips. It was truly amazing! We can wholeheartedly recommend Boom and Our Jungle Camp and will definitely come back again!

Nadat we met de trein aangekomen waren op het treinstation in Surat Thani, stonden de busjes van Our Jungle Camp ons al op te wachten. Na een ritje van ongeveer 1,5 uur kwamen aan op OJC (Our Jungle Camp), welke gelegen is in de jungle. Dit camp bestaat uit verschillende lodges al dan niet op palen omgeven door een schitterende natuur met een hoeveelheid aan verschillende takken, bomen, bloemen en vruchten. We werden door de eigenaresse warm ontvangen en kregen een korte uitleg. Eerst maar even wat drinken en uitrusten en later de rest. Koffie, thee en water werden gelijk verzorgd voor ons ❤️. Toen even later kregen we de sleutels van de 3 appartementen/lodges. Mooi en goed verzorgde huisjes met douche, wastafel en toilet. 3 bedden welke voorzien waren van een klamboe. De deuren en ramen kunnen wel op slot, maar het geheel is een open constructie, zodat je de klamboe wel nodig hebt. Verder genoeg stopcontacten en 2 ventilatoren. Bij de receptie een bar, restaurant en geldautomaat. Ook water hoorde erbij. Wij alleen gebruik gemaakt van ontbijt (perfect) en de bar. Al met al een TOP locatie met vriendelijk personeel 🥰🥰🥰🙏. Dus echt een aanrader ❤️🙏

Nous avons eu l’occasion de passer 2 nuits en “tree house” dans cet hôtel. Tout d’abord concernant le prix de la chambre, il n’est clairement pas en adéquation avec la prestation proposé. Ça ne me dérange pas d’être en éco resort mais dans ce cas là pas à ce prix là. (Pas de wifi en dehors de la réception, literie très inconfortable, moustiquaire trouée de partout). Encore une fois si c’est une chambre à 50€ maximum je n’aurai pas ce discours. Point positif, les parties communes sont agréables, la nourriture est bonne et le petit déjeuner très varié. L’hôtel propose un grand nombre d’activités à faire ce qui nous a décidé à le choisir. Pour les activités c’est un zéro du début à la fin: Cours de cuisine bamboo: le cours commence à 16heures et on passe à table à 17h15… Malgré la gentillesse du cuisinier, le cours est bien trop cher par rapport au repas final. Deuxième activité et pas des moindres c’est la journée bateau sur le lac. L’hôtel externalise cette activité donc un mini bus fait la tournée des hôtels du coin pour remplir un bateau. On s’est retrouvé à 17 sur le bateau. Boisson, lunch et snack était compris dans le prix, pour une journée de bateau (départ 8:30 retour 18:00) nous avons eu droit à 2 petites bouteilles d’eaux pour ma femme et moi (elle est enceinte donc je vous laisse imaginer), le lunch était plus que réduit vu que tout le monde avait encore faim au café ( un demi ananas et une tranche de pastèque par table de 6…). Le snack ? On l’attend toujours… Concernant les visites et activités franchement encore une fois c’est pas très glorieux. Marche de 2km ou on ne voit rien ou sinon baignade dans le lac ou les gilets de sauvetage d’après guerre sont obligatoires. Bref je pourrai continuer encore mais je pense que c’est suffisant. Après 2 nuits, l’addition était de 14 000 bahts (env 400€) ce qui est complètement hors de prix au vue du séjour. Everything ran super smoothly at Our Jungle camp. We stayed for 3 nights as a family of 5 and felt that everything was catered to our needs. Very comfortable accommodation, great, (& generous helpings) of food (for adults and fussy kids alike) and the activities were superb. All of the details and logistics have been thought through and taken care of (transfers, tours, activities, trips etc). In particular I HIGHLY recommend a tour guide called KC who took us on our full day lake tour. He was knowledgeable, interesting, attentive to our needs and so funny and great with our children. The day with him made our stay a really memorable experience.

For our stay in OJC we had booked a package deal of 4 days and 3 nights. We had contact via mail and picked the activities we wanted. We needed to made clear what we wanted several times when it came to the tree houses and activities. The arrival was nice and friendly. We thought we booked a two story tree house but we got two one story tree houses instead. It was a surprise and the explanation was that the bookings are per person and not per tree house. We had our first dinner here. It was three corses. The appetizer and the head meal came in at the same time. That was a bit too much at once for us. We were also surprised when one of the workers came to our table while we were having dinner and asked us to come with her because the van for the night safari was ready to pick us up. We had the night safari the next night on the schedule and not the first night. They made a mistake when looking at our program. So let’s say the first few hours here were full of surprises. The activities we picked were nice! We picked canoeing, bamboo rafting, night safari, hike to the cave and bamboo cooking. When checking out (before going to the house on the lake for the last night of our package) we had another surprise and had several wrong bills presented to us which they corrected by themselves already. They wanted us to pay the complete amount while we chose the option to pay separately when we were checking in. After some discussion we managed to pay separately… Last but not least, the tree house we had was very nice located next to the river. Beware you get animal visitors in and around your house throughout the day! This is definitely an experience.
