The staff are friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the room assigned to us was for disabled guest i guess , room spacious , clean but the room smelled of urine. I cannot pinpoint where the smell was coming from but i think its either the bed or the duvet. We did not bother to ask the staff for us to relocate rooms or change beddings because we arrived very late at 3am. We eere tired and sleepy so just slept on it and the following day we were rushing to get ready to attend a wedding. When we arrived at night for our second night stay, we were dis appointed that our room wasn't cleaned. We did not have clean cups and coffee to make. This was a bad experience for us staying in a premiere inn hotel.

Wonderfully clean and lovely staff but not for me. Modern and feels like a cafe in the restaurant, no atmosphere at all and hardly any seating at the bar. Three pub tables outside are not enough and although they have a view of the car park it would have been nice to sit outside. I wouldn’t come back because of the lack of atmosphere and seating inside and out. Nowhere to relax .

When we arrived ( 15.6.2025) it was extremely busy and the duty manager ( I was told his name was George?) was running here there and everywhere. He told us several members of staff had called in sick. He was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for him. He was being assisted by a lovely lady ( Millie) who is actually one of the chefs! Together they made a brilliant team and didn’t appear too phased by how busy they were, restaurant especially. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable and the hotel was ideally located for our few days stay. I would like to give a big shout out to George and Millie and if we are that way again, will definitely stay.

Seven of us visited for my dad’s birthday. He wanted to visit Matthewsons, which was very close by. It was a clean, modern hotel. Rooms were comfortable. Food was good. Staff were very busy but always pleasant and helpful, especially Sofia. We would definitely visit here again.

The most comfortable bed and pillows, Had the best night's sleep in a long while. Breakfast was great, staff are excellent, would recommend to anyone. I'll be back.

Don't waste your money as the beds are so hard, and the breakfast had been left out for sometime and the fried eggs were like rubber and the hash brown were so hard we couldn't get our knife through them, and there was only 1 member if staff on and the poor guy was run off his feet. We actually left a day early.

The hotel was quite modern but far from the town with no possibility of walking in. Even though we arrived about 5pm they told us we could not eat there as they had too many ‘meal deal’ customers. However, when we looked in at the restaurant later it was definitely not full and we suspected that there were also local people eating there. They gave us a list of pubs and restaurants for eating but some of these were miles away or not open. Hotel staff were scant on the ground and quite offhand. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet. It wasn’t a good experience and we won’t stay there again.

Reading other reviews that rave about this place suggests to me that there must be 2 Premier Inns in Pickering. An evening meal of hard overcooked Scampi and crisp oven chips that dig into your gums or steak pie with very little meat in it that had stood in the oven for far too long is not my idea as acceptable. Added to which a table serving person with a bad memory. It wasn't even busy that night so that can't be used as an excuse. Would also ask why there are no drawers in the bedroom to avoid living out of the suitcase? Why isn't there a table with a second chair and why the "waterfall" shower is in a high sided bath that is a danger to elderly people trying to step in and out without a non-slip mat?
