Black Rhino Game Lodge

O staff foi super atencioso a todo momento, toda hora perguntando se estávamos bem e preocupados em nos acolher. Todas as comidas estavam muito boas também, os quartos eram confortáveis e arrumados 2x ao dia. A experiência do safari foi incrível.

We had a wonderful time at Black Rhino Lodge. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel even better than at home. The food was delicious—far beyond our expectations. They’ve recently introduced a complimentary drink for the afternoon game drives, and we highly recommend trying the Black Rhino beer! Thank you to the entire team and to our guide, who did their very best to help us find as many animals as possible!

We had a fantastic stay here - everything was perfect from the luxurious rooms, plentiful breakfasts and fantastic game drives. We would definitely stay again.

Our guide, Jurgens Loedolff “Dolfie”, was a wealth of knowledge, making our trip fabulous!! He exceeded all expectations, and was a joy to have as our guide. Our family visited in February 2025, and were so pleased with their experience, they highly recommended Black Rhino and absolutely suggested to request Dolfie as our guide. We were not disappointed!! Our accommodation was immaculate, and the entire staff were so caring and attentive. This made our stay so very enjoyable. The ONLY disappointment with Black Rhino - no disclosure that drinks, with the exception of bottled water in our room, were an extra charge. This included water, espresso coffees, and alcohol at leisure, meals and on game drives.

Black Rhino Game Lodge should change its name. Having the term “Game” has a different connotation as it implies a game park for hunters. It should be rightly called Wildlife Park. It is next to Pilanesberg National park and has all the Big 5, the leopard remained elusive to us. The lodge is spread out a bit and provides different types of accommodation. We had chosen to stay in a Suite but I must admit, our suite didn’t look like the suite on their website. It was spacious and comfortable but it seems strange that neither the toilet nor the shower cubicle had a door, although both were indoors. We didn’t like this as the shower sprayed everywhere and toilet had no privacy. We were able to see many animals during our 4 drives, especially the big 4, we missed out on leopard. Our guide/driver was excellent and unlike many safari places he spent longer time driving looking for wildlife than most other lodges. After a morning drive you have a cooked breakfast and then an afternoon high tea before the evening drive. The dinner and breakfast are outdoors on a patio. The menu is a-la-carte in the evening. There are lots of monkeys around who have worked out how to open the door to the dining area. Overall a satisfying stay.

Die Lodge ist gut gelegen und schön gemacht. Wir hatten Zimmer 14. Das Zimmer selbst war sehr schön und geräumig. Leider konnten wir die Außendusche nicht nutzen, weil die Tür so verzogen war, dass sie nicht aufging und der durch das Fenster der Tür gehende Riss im Glas, zeigte, dass wir nicht die ersten waren, die versucht haben, sie zu öffnen. Wir haben das auch dem Management mitgeteilt, passiert ist nichts. Zimmer 14 liegt an dem kleinen Pool, der für die 3 angrenzenden Suiten gedacht ist. Da aber der große Pool nicht geöffnet wurde, kamen alle Gäste an diesen, dadurch war es unglaublich laut. Das Essen war gut. Wir hatten Glück und ein Herde Elefanten kam zum Wasserloch direkt vor der Lodge. Wir haben sehr viel gesehen, auch wen die Fahren in den Pilanesberg NP sehr lange dauern
