Amazones Village Suites

This hotel is so nice and the view is amazing. Waking up seeing the sea and swimming in the pool. I fully recommande this hotel

Firstly could I say we had a fantastic holiday and made the most of the apartment we were allocated but I do have a few issues. Firstly this is not a four star hotel, don’t get me wrong it’s clean it’s well run and the staff are so polite and friendly but it is dated. We were allocated our room at the top of the hill (steep walk up). We entered the room and put the key into a device to turn on the electric. There was a loud noise coming from the fuse box and this was 2am in the morning. The young lad from reception came up and seemed lost but said he would report it. We later found out he had only been working there for a week. Breakfast the next morning, not the best fruit, nuts pastries. Small sausages and scrambled eggs no beans. We made best of what there was. Bar meals were excellent and offers posted on food deals good too. Very good clean pool but you have to be up early for a sun bed. Rooms are comfortable but dated. Bed was very comfortable, rooms have fridge and microwave and kettle and crockery. Rooms also have a tv but if you’re unfortunate like us there was no remote control. We reported it to the manager and he said he would sort it. Never sorted, and I like to have a coffee in the morning and catch up with the news. Not been able to do that. On the whole a good stay, lessons learnt but would visit again. Thank you to George and his staff.

Reasonable sized apartments, clean, serviced daily except Sunday. Site is on a hillside so naturally there are lots of unavoidable steps and steep paths. Abundant shrubs and beautiful flower borders. Garden rooms are well named. We found it worth paying for an upgrade to a sea view apartment. Views from our balcony were magnificent. WiFi was good throughout the site, except unfortunately in the vicinity of our apartment. This was a technical issue and was in the process of being resolved. TV included Netflix which we could access using our own home profile. Staff are on hand 24/7, always doing everything to make guests comfortable; eg barman Martino ensured that the breakfast muesli didn’t contain particular nuts to which I am allergic. The breakfast is much better than you might expect from one described as continental, offering eggs and bacon, cheese pastries, croissants, cereals, salads, fruit and daily-changing homemade cakes and pastries. At the poolside there was a good range of snacks available, including a really good and tasty burger. The owner, Giorgios, is dedicated to making your stay memorable. Any problem, large or small, is dealt with immediately, whether you are requesting a room change or just some extra clothes hangers. He insists on providing his guests with the high standards of service and cleanliness that he would expect for himself when on holiday. For example, we experienced African dust storms, which happen infrequently in Crete. High winds for a couple of days deposited a layer of very fine dust over all external surfaces, including sunbeds, furniture, paths, cars; the bottom of the swimming pool looked like an orange carpet. Early next morning, Giorgios and his team were out in force with mops, brushes and hoses. By afternoon you would not have known that there had been any disruption. The village of Piskopiano is old and charming, with a good selection of restaurants - all traditional Greek. Ten minutes walk away is the next village, Koutouloufari, with a couple of dozen more great restaurants, while fifteen minutes in the other direction is the village of Old Hersonissos, again with lots of restaurants. The choice, quality and value of the restaurants is unbelievable. Because of the location of Amazones it cannot be reached by a normal coach. Jet2’s solution is to drop guests off at the end of the road, and for them to carry or drag their luggage three hundred metres up a long sloping road. This road is poorly lit at night, which is daunting for a person arriving alone. In the daytime, this struggle in the Greek summer temperatures is frankly off-putting. Although this situation is pointed out in the Jet2 brochure it should not be allowed to exist. I am taking up the matter with the company to try to persuade them to make a more satisfactory arrangement. Overall a

Great stay! The hotel is situated on a mountaintop with excellent views. It is in a cute traditional Greek village with great Greek restaurants around, lovely traditional buildings and a magnificent small old church. The breakfast was very delicious and varied from one morning to another. Comfortable beddings at night and a very calm surrounding. Thé wifi was, however, non-existent (problem solved by our last day of stay).

Can not fault .. very clean typical greek apartment , great pool area & views, fantastic breakfast, fantastic staff and also the clientele of this hotel was great .. definitely return ! Stairs too reception but also have a lift .. situated on a hill and just up from Piskopiano village but worth the climb (tough if you have a wheelchair /walker ) taxis available for a couple of euro if needed .. villagers extremely friendly
