Zostel Pokhara

Nice and good

Poorly managed trek with serious safety and comfort issues. An organization handling high-altitude treks should prioritize safety and preparedness—but unfortunately, Zostel lacks the expertise and systems to do so. There was no clearly defined fitness criteria shared beforehand, and no BP or oxygen checks were done during the ABC trek—a basic safety requirement at such altitudes. Twin-sharing was promised, but I was placed in a mixed shared room, which was uncomfortable and unhygienic. Concerns raised during the trek were dismissed, and no meaningful resolution was provided. Trekkers are expected to prepare and manage everything on their own, as Zostel outsources the trek to a local guide with minimal involvement. Not recommended for those seeking a safe and professionally managed trekking experience.

Zostel Pokhara is a beautiful property by the lake and it’s one of the most comfortable places you can stay in. Amazing food, cat, and people. They were the best to help me out with my solo trek to the Annapurna Base Camp; from what routes to take to helping me out with as much trekking poles!
