Excellent and no words can hide the beauty of the hotel transformation from Old hospital. Good location for easy commute and connecting all travels. We recommend this hotel.

So, I’m conflicted. Everything about this hotel is great, except the mattress. The mattress was SO hard (and you could kind of feel the springs), I do not know how anyone slept on it. I requested blankets that I piled to make some cushioning, which helped but not entirely. The one must of a hotel is to get a good night’s sleep. And that was harder than it should have been. If the mattress had been sleepable, this hotel would have gotten 5 stars from me. The location is absolute perfection. Could not be better. Right on the edge of the Centro Histórico, I walked to dinner every night (5-10 min walk to all the best restaurants). It’s across from the marina. And right by a rental car spot. The pool area is beautiful. The sun hours are a little more limited than the actual hours of daylight because the pool is enclosed in a four-walled courtyard, but no big deal. The lounge chairs are so comfortable. The pool clean and well-maintained. The indoor pool and spa area were clean and nice. I sat in the small (but great) sauna every day. Breakfast is totally decent for a hotel brunch spread. They have a cooking station for fresh omelettes, fried eggs, pancakes. The bell tower is loud when you are outside, but I couldn’t hear it when I slept. The staff was nice (though not necessarily the most helpful with specific recommendations of tour companies or specific restaurants). My room was spacious and clean. Excellent cleaning service. The bathroom is nice with a great shower. Black out curtains were great. Lots of storage. Literally, everything was great except that mattress. If they replace them, I would certainly stay here again.

Excellent Hotel - wonderful big rooms , good restaurant , wonderful service & best massages at the Spa ( ask for Ruth !) and great pools. In the center of Ponta Delgado the perfect location for your stay at San Miguel. All new renovated and elegant

Hemos estado 2 semanas. Servicio muy bueno desayuno buffet muy completo. El spa y el gym muy agradables. Personal competente y muy amables. Lo único nos chocó que las habitaciones se hacen a las 15:30 y alguna vez volvíamos de estar todo el día fuera y estaba sin hacer. Nos llamó la atención

We stayed at the hotel on the first floor room 103. At first we were worried that it was above reception so might be noisey but it was very quiet (although we do listen to a rain app) and we got very good sleep. The room was spacious and airy, the bed was comfortable. The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. The reason for a 4 star is because the food is not good - basing this on the breakfast and dinner buffet. One evening we sat for dinner but it felt like a school canteen. It was very noisey, no music, the chairs and furniture were not very nice and would make loud noises on the floor so we had to leave before ordering. But this was fine for us as there are lots of places in town to eat and drink. Would stay again, and just eat elsewhere as we had done.
