Sensi Azores Nature and Spa

We spent five wonderful nights at Sensi and felt lucky for this introduction to Sao Miguel. The resort is situated on a special property (formerly a farm), with an incredible view of the ocean and a cornfield stretching down to it. The grounds are beautifully laid out and manicured, with green lawns, mature, graceful trees, and a pool that would make our top five list. The sun sets dramatically over the ocean in full view from the property. A visiting artist would be kept busy with all the worthy scenes to paint! We were lucky to stay in a premiere room, one of the few upper rooms that looks out over the ocean. The windows are so big, it’s as though you’re outside. We slept with the windows open and listened to the Corey Shearwaters, birds that are almost entirely unique to the Azores. We found the quiet country location to be far preferable to a busy town or city hotel. It’s convenient to sights such as Sete Cidades and Ponta da Ferraria Hot Springs. We also found the hydrangeas and flowers on this side of the island to be most abundant. The breakfast and dinner service was impeccable and delicious. The restaurant at Sensi, MÔMÔ is top notch and we were wowed by every meal. Finally, but importantly, the staff at Sensi, MOMO and the bar, were all excellent and bent over backward to make our stay delightful.

Everything and everyone was perfect at this spectacular resort well-located in the west. Joanna in reception was extremely helpful. Daniella in the restaurant was so friendly and made our every wish come true. She is a true professional. Nulan in the spa did the most amazing deep tissue massage, and his words of wisdom afterwards will stay with me for a long time. If you are going to the Azores as a couple this is the place to be.

Sensi is a marvelous boutique hotel, we had a wonderful stay. The tucked away setting with views of the Atlantic going on into the horizon is so special, you really feel like you're at the end of the world. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a calm, beautiful base, provided they know they will need to drive far sometimes to visit other parts of the island. This did not bother us at all, as we enjoyed driving around to visit as much of the island as possible during our 5 day visit. We enjoyed the spa very much, as well as the hotel restaurant Momo, and bar. Special thank you to Joana, who kindly helped us organize our stay both from afar and once we were at Sensi. The level of attention from all the staff was wonderful. One thing to note is that the hotel does allow babies and children, if that is something that bothers you. It did not bother us at all and we hope to bring our own young children one day.

We loved our stay. Staff was wonderful, location beautiful, restaurant excellent. Our room was slightly disappointing— no place to put luggage except floor, door stop in floor in bathroom protruded out of floor and we both stubbed our toes, no shelf in shower to put anything, non removable hangers and short closet space which made it difficult to hang dresses. These were all little disappointments, but we still loved our stay. Dinner was excellent as was the bar with very fresh and inventive cocktails. All serving staff were knowledgeable and very welcoming. We would definitely return.

We spent five wonderful days at the Sensi Hotel and absolutely loved it. The views are amazing, the rooms cozy, and we really enjoyed the indoor pool and an excellent spa treatment. Both breakfast and dinners at Mômô were delicious. But above everything else, it’s really the team who made our stay so special. Nowhere else have we encountered such genuine warmth, friendliness, and good vibes as from the entire Sensi team. It’s a great hotel, but the staff are what truly set it apart. We’d return anytime. Best place to stay in the Sao Miguel We have stayed in three different hotels in Sao Miguel and Sensi definitely surpassed the other two. From the quality of service to the relaxing secluded premises, not forgetting the top quality of the cocktails and the restaurant (best one on the island from far): you cannot go wrong by going to Sensi. The team was also super helpful in helping us organising our activities (very last minute) and made it work with our existing plans. 100% recommend!
