Marcus Hotel Portrush, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

I would be interested to see the answer given to my question as it concerns not just the Marcus but also other like minded establishments in the portrush area . My family went into the Marcus recently with the view to take drinks and light snacks, there were several seats available so they sat , only to be told by a member of staff that those seats were for residents. So my question is who will use this establishment in the winter season , because it won’t be day trippers and with that policy it won’t be the locals either, I eagerly await your reply

We had a great meal and amazing wine. We had the curry, salmon, skewers, and dumplings. All were amazing. Thanks to your staff Reece, Chloe and Ella. They made this night very memorable.

I was in for a some drinks this evening 03-08-25 with my family. We had 3 identical rounds. 1st round was £26, 2nd round was £32, so we questioned it when placing order for the 3rd round. We were told by the bar staff that we didn’t pay for 1 of the drinks and we owed them £6. When I highlighted that it was in fact the bar staff that made the mistake by not charging us for all the drinks that they served us it was pointed out to us that we didn’t in fact pay for the drink and we owed them the money. We never refused to pay the £6 but when I pointed out to the staff that it was their mistake and that you should not charge me for the drink they became quite defensive and tried to say we didn’t pay the correct amount. That was all card transactions so we only paid what they charged us. At no stage did we refuse to pay the £6. When paying for the drinks the card didn’t work 3 times and eventually the person behind reception approached us and told us that we would take it from her machine which we did in 2 no transactions £6 then £32. Immediately after this money was paid we were told that this was our last drink in the hotel and that we’re not welcome back in this hotel. This was at 22:00. When I asked for a reason the person at reception why this was the case I was told that it was because we were accusing them of making the mistake. That is correct as it was them that made the mistake. I then asked to speak to the manager and this person told me that she was the manager and when I questioned how they were the manage they then told me that they were the duty manager. I am completely disappointed by the attitude shown here towards me and my family. I am confident that this attitude will damage the hotels future it this town and they have no worries about me spending my money in this hotel again. I will never be back. Disgusting manners shown by the staff and duty manager. Simply unbelievable
