Secret Bay

We loved our stay at Secret Bay! My husband and I celebrated our 15th anniversary here. The rooms are incredible but beyond that, the service and attention to detail is exceptional.

My wife and I spent magical week at Secret Bay in the lead up to Christmas, relaxing and exploring the beautiful island of Dominica, the Caribbean's very own Garden of Eden. We stayed in one of Secret Bay's exquisitely designed timber built villas tucked away in the forest, offering total privacy and five star comfort. And from the villa’s terrace and very own plunge pool we enjoyed breathtaking views of the Caribbean; soaking up the peace and tranquillity of Secret Bay. Available 24/7 via WhatsApp on a SB iPhone provided to us during our stay, the staff were exceptional, incredibly friendly and did everything to ensure our stay was as comfortable and pleasant as possible, attending to all our needs and requests. Our villa "host" attentively looking after us throughout our stay, each morning preparing the most delicious breakfasts in the villa's kitchen, including salt fish with 'bakes', a yummy Dominican take on breakfast. And to my delight one of the staff members, Kenny, even found a baby iguana to show me when I mentioned I was disappointed at not seeing any iguanas! And a funicular ride away through the forest below our cliff top hideaway was Secret Bay's own private beach. On our first visit to the beach, feeling energetic, we swam to a floating platform, moored a hundred yards or so off shore for the use of guests, sunbathing and taking in the awesome view of Prince Rupert Bay. We also took full advantage of the SB kayaks and snorkel equipment, visiting Secret Beach (only accessible by boat or swimming) and exploring the submerged reefs teeming with all sorts of beautifully coloured tropical fish. Our only advise on snorkelling at SB would to avoid doing so when the wind picks up, which it did on occasion, reducing visibility. Just a short walk from the beach there was an infinity pool and bar, and beyond that the reception centre and restaurants where we enjoyed mouthwatering dishes, including a delicately flavoured Caribbean fish soup. Secret Bay is the perfect romantic getaway!
