Malay Hotels with Private Pools

"Stay dates: August 2–4, 2025 | Room 541 We stayed at Henann Lagoon from August 2 to 4, 2025, in room 541. One evening, I ordered room service consisting of a salmon steak, a Henann salad, and two bottles of San Miguel Light. I was shocked to discover, after eating just three bites of the salad, that there was a rusty old screw under the lettuce. I immediately called the staff to report the issue. The server came to clean up and saw the screw himself, but he did not apologize. He only said he would check with the kitchen. What’s more disappointing is that no one from the hotel followed up with us during the rest of our stay — no apology, no explanation, not even a mention of the incident. It is deeply concerning to encounter such a basic and dangerous mistake in a hotel that’s part of a well-known chain. That said, aside from this issue, the rest of our experience was good. The buffet breakfast was excellent, though I avoided eating any more salad afterwards. Special mention to the kimchi — it was delicious."

"From the moment we arrived we were made to feel safe, comfortable and every single need was catered to. Traveling with our 1 year old son for the first time, the stay at Movenpick was exactly the right place. Amazing amazing staff: Our transfer by private boat, van and bus was organised perfectly. Checking in and out - staff are friendly. Concierge and staff assistance with transfers/ in town travel and anything else - exceptional. Staff at the pools, beach, restaurants, daycare, shops, cleaning staff - all are exceptional and truly warm and friendly. Amazing food and drinks, pool and beach is amazing and we truly cannot say enough how well we were treated and spoiled. Special shoutout to: Rianne, Honey, Antonet, Mia, Cara and Brooks for greeting our boy by name every day, spending time with him, making him laugh all while making sure we are comfortable and enjoying our breakfast/lunch/dinner - you all truly embody professional and loving service - we will miss seeing you every morning. To the managers - Arnold, Marichel and Arlene - thank you for your honest goodness, smiles and small favours (small glasses of fruit juice, extra bananas etc etc). We are sad to leave here but will definitely be back one day - hope to see you all here again!"

"Проживали в этом отеле 16 дней в ноябре 2024 года. Отель хороший, персонал вежливый, всё чисто, завтраки вкусные . До белого пляжа 5 минут, всё в шаговой доступности. Рекомендую! Единственный минус не выдают воду в бутылках, к чему мы очень привыкли. Благодарю за хорошее пребывание в вашем отеле!!!"

"The location of the hotel was the best, which is close yo Dmall and white beach!! Really enjoyed staying here but water dripping from the AC was a bit annoying and staff didnt take care of it till my last day in the hotel. Furthermore, you should not expect breakfast served here. But I would love to stay here one more time when I visit Boracay someday."

"Probably the hotel with the best price to service ratio in whole Boracay! :) it is located on the quite east coast (not the busy, touristy, Party west-coast). The beach behind the hotel is quite and perfect for wind-surfers! The hotel and staff is also great :) modern, comfortable and modern! Great pool! 🏝️"

"Except for the location, it was spacious and beautiful The road to D'Molo is a lot of work under construction, but it's not a problem to call the tricycle out of the hotel. The room was like a picture with 3 layers The check-out time was also adjusted without talking about the money. Ah, the pool is small but the depth is quite deep I'm 166 tall and I'm deep in my chin If you go down the road for 5 minutes, you will come to the beach bar. There are local people who rent paddles, there are no waves, and the water is far away. Recommended if true rest is a concept And the family unit is a great villa Oh, I'm getting a phone call and the bad thing is that I don't have an interphone, so I have to go to the desk to ask myself. The refrigerator is filled with ice and egg bread butter jam except beer wine is provided for free ~~ Water got water purifier"

"We had a warm welcome with 🍹 drinks.The staff were very accomodating regardless the ethnicity.One of the nice and important thing about the staff walking around that caught our attention was they greet every visitor on their way, it makes us feel good first thing in the morning.The facilities are great very clean.They will lend you towel when you want to go to the beach,very convinient.Awesome buffet breakfast with ocean view.They even bother to call our transfer tour which I booked on different agency and make sure we will have no worries.If you some guests expect too much I think they should pay more because infairness in this resort,they’ve done a very good job!Go and experience this fantastic Two Seasons Resort!!!"

"Our stay at the hotel had many positive aspects, but unfortunately, the overall experience was not satisfactory. Let me start with the good points: the rooms were clean, bright, and beautifully designed. The breakfast was excellent, and the facilities—such as the gym, kids' club, spa, and swimming pools—were impressive. The location is also amazing. However, two major issues overshadowed these positives and would prevent me from returning. Events and Weddings: During our 3-night stay, events disrupted our experience on 2 nights. On the first day, the rooftop infinity pool was closed to all hotel guests due to a private event. It felt unfair—having a beautiful pool but being unable to use it because it was rented out to someone else. On the third day, half of the beach area was occupied by a wedding setup, and loud music could be heard from our room until 10 PM. This made it impossible to relax on the balcony or enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of a 5-star resort. Instead, it felt like being at a nightclub. The noise was particularly frustrating because we were traveling with a 2.5-year-old child who usually goes to bed at 8:30 PM but couldn’t sleep until 10 PM due to the loud music. After the wedding ended at 10 PM, the staff began cleaning and moving equipment back to the building, creating significant noise until 11:45 PM. This happened repeatedly, with loud sounds every 15 minutes (Unfortunately, I cannot upload videos to give an idea of the noise experience due to size limitations, but I’ve included screenshots below). For a hotel charging over $300 per night, this level of disturbance is unacceptable. Service Speed and Quality: The service was consistently slow and inconsistent. Simple requests, like asking for ice to be delivered to our room, took up to an hour. At the beach restaurant, it took 15-20 minutes just to receive a menu, even after asking multiple times. There were also mix-ups, such as being brought a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc instead of the Chardonnay we ordered. While the hotel has many great features, the lack of consideration for guests during events and the poor service quality significantly impacted our experience. For the price paid, we expected much better."

"Best hotel we've ever been, there is literally nothing I could find to complain. From transfer from/to the airport, services, cleanness, food, pool, activities and so on ... there is nothing that was overlooked. Yes, it is expensive, however you are getting so much for your money that you won't feel cheated. It's one of those rare cases when the photos are less spectacular than reality."

"Overall a disappointing stay with Crimson. It started off bad and really never improved sadly. Our flight into Caticlan was delayed 5 hours, arriving at 19:30. I was in communication with Crimson throughout the delay updating them on our progress and estimated arrival time. They had warned me that they don’t organise transfers after 8pm. However, upon arrival they had left us to transit to the hotel via a third party provider. This provider was fine, and did their job, but it was a transfer that involved stopping at 3 other hotels - very much not the private 5 star experience we had been promised, taking 1 hour and a half. The fact they did not wait until 8pm, when other resorts were prepared and waiting, was a big disappointment. The transfer was eventually provided for free after our experience - which to be honest is the bare minimum. It’s insane I even had to pay for the transfer considering most 5 star hotels would provide this for free. Whilst the rooms were fine, the service was extremely disappointing throughout. Check-in took ages, and for some reason there is no aircon in anywhere outside the restaurants and rooms, so we were stuck sweating after an 8 hour journey whilst waiting the 30 minutes to check in. Additionally, every single request we made was either ignored or took ages. I had requested decorations in the room to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday, but received nothing. I managed to get things organised whilst there, but after requesting matches to light a candle, these never arrived. Add on the fact we would have to request water multiple times before any showed up and it was all just very frustrating. We had booked a sea view room, but were unable to fully enjoy it as it was located directly in front of the infinity pool, with guests able to see directly into the privacy of our bedroom due to the lack of any noticeable tinting on the windows. The rooms were also not soundproofed, and we had to wake up early every day to the sounds of screaming children using the pool in front of our room. No amenities were on offer - no access to water bottles without requesting or paying, no access to coffee without paying, no welcome or departure drinks, no free water on the beach (which is seriously just dangerous). Crimson certainly has a 5 star beach and sea. The access to the beach is superb and the sand and sea were typically excellent, but it’s not as if Crimson has control over these things. In fact despite the environmental fee, I regularly saw some litter in the sea and on the beach. It felt very budget in the way they treat you. There are shuttles to the centre but these run almost every 3 hours and are often packed, offered on a first come first serve basis. Every little thing is charged too. For a check out at 12pm instead of 11am, it’s 2000PHP. There’s no way to charge anything to rooms to pay upon check out (like every other hotel) if you do not have a credit card. Debit cards are no good for the deposit apparently. We just stayed at Piece Lio in El Nido, which was far far far superior. It’s a real shame because Crimson does not do service to a terrific sea and stunning location. It may be the most modern 5 star hotel on the island but honestly just pay the extra and go to the Shangri-La. It’s almost as if they knew how bad it was. We weren’t even asked how our stay was upon checking out, as if they were dreading the answer. It felt like an American diner leaving, where they just wanted us out the room as quickly as possible to make space for their next cash cow. We even arrived at the airport 3 hours early for a domestic flight for some reason."
