Escape your busy life to our sunny, 5-acre sanctuary, nestled in the close-in Tucson Mountain District just east of Saguaro National Park and 15 minutes west of downtown. Our Santa-Fe style home, with its giant, natural beams and stucco exterior, has been a highly rated rental property for the last 17 years with many repeat visitors, and we are the new owners. We’ve added solar heating to the dramatic infinity pool which extends the season by a few weeks fall and spring, though not through the winter. It hangs out over the wild and natural scenery with an army of saguaro cacti and breathtaking views of the Catalina Mountains and wild desert landscape. You won’t want to leave the pool and bubbling hot tub / spa scene on our patio, day or night, as this is entertainment enough to keep you busy! There’s a covered brick patio with large dining table for enjoying your meals outdoors, or just sit and watch the twinkling stars, spectacular city lights and the moonrise. There’s a perfect spot for yoga, and plenty of lounges for sunning. While Tucson offers many fabulous dining options, a serious cook will love our large, fully equipped kitchen with bar seating and a big island. A trip to the nearest grocery store (or a bit longer drive to my favorite store, AJ’s) and you’re set for wonderful nights in, plus breakfasts and dramatic sunrises. We will provide a list of convenient shops and restaurants for you when you arrive! There are drip and Keurig coffee pots and some coffee to get your motor started. The adjacent dining room has a family-sized table plus a little coffee-drinking spot, with big picture windows to observe the desert and watch for deer & wildlife. A spacious, vaulted living room offers a large TV on Dish network so you can pull up your favorite movies, or bring your DVDs, and a comfy leather couch for your naps! Large picture windows provide an ever-changing scenery where you can watch morning break, night fall, or weather blow through the valley. Guests have raved about our comfortable beds! There are three bedrooms, two with king beds and attached bathrooms. The primary/master bedroom has room for a rollaway (provided) or baby’s porta crib (not provided) and all bedrooms offer plenty of closet space and hangers. The third bedroom has a queen sized bed and is next to the hall bath. You’ll find comfy robes hanging in your closet, plus laundry baskets, and we have a new washer/dryer. All of this beauty exists just 10 minutes to grocery shopping, Saguaro National Monument, Costco or Starbucks! Highway 10 makes navigating to U of A, the airport, or downtown a breeze. This property feels a world apart from civilization, yet you’re within 15-20 minutes from many outstanding restaurants. If you love hiking, we’re in the sweet spot- the Sweetwater Preserve and Camino del Cerro trailheads are a couple of minutes away, as is the Saguaro National Park with many hiking options. There are about a dozen trailheads within a 15 -20 minute drive.Shoppers will find the Premium Outlet shopping within a few minutes drive, and the Lost Barrio shops are definitely worth checking out for authentic and unique treasures. The upstairs bathrooms have bath towels, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner and a hairdryer.There are smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and fire extinguishers in place.BEDROOMS - - There are 3 bedrooms upstairs with comfortable rustic southwestern style decor. All bedrooms have smart TVs. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan for the warm nights and an extra blanket and comforter for the cooler nights. The Main ensuite bedroom has a comfortable King size bed, and a balcony with beautiful views of the Catalina Mountains. The ensuite bathroom fully embraces the character of the southwest and has twin sinks and a luxurious deluge shower with horizontal jets and a handheld shower attachment. The main bedroom has a luxurious King bed, the two guest bedrooms have comfortable queen size beds. The house comfortably sleep 6 people, and there are also additional sleeping arrangements as described below. .ADDITIONAL SLEEPING - - There is a twin size, thick and comfortable memory foam Lucid mattress measuring 73 x 36 inches and also a lightweight, easy to carry single folding mattress, measuring 75 x 31 inches, to accommodate two extra guests (these both go on the floor, and both have bedding available). There is also a pack and play for a baby/small child, with fitted sheets available. 8 adults/children and 1 baby are really the maximum for the home. OUTDOOR LIVING - - The backyard is fully fenced in and is very suitable for pets. There are three outside seating areas and two sun loungers overlooking the private pool. The pool has a gas heater which is available for use with an additional fee on request. You can relax in the outdoor covered dining area overlooking the pool with comfortable seating for 6, an outdoor light, a misting system and a pull down sun shade. There is a propane BBQ by the back patio. The back patio has been recently resurfaced with a no-slip surface. There is an easy to use propane gas fire pit table, with seating for 6 around it. The pool and hot tub are well maintained and serviced weekly. The hot tub has an "easy lift" for the cover, making it easy to pull back the cover and jump in for some R&R time! There is no additional fee to use the hot tub and it is heated and ready to use year round! There is a 20 year old lemon tree that produces a huge amount of fruit in the fall. The backyard is really well stocked with mature plants, which makes it feel very green, serene and secluded. The yard backs up to a wash where you'll see lots of wildlife, including quail, rabbits, squirrels, Javelinas, Coyotes, Bob Cats, Harris and Coopers Hawks, and occasionally a giant owl! The front yard has two giant saguaro cacti, huge aloe vera plants and a beautiful bougainvillea.THE NEIGHBORS AND PARKING - - The neighborhood is quiet and safe and the neighbors are friendly. There is off-street parking on the driveway for two vehicles. No parking on the street please - the additional parking is on the road opposite the church. There is currently limited use of the garage, to access the trash and as an emergency exit.About pets:Pets allowed: dogs and cats (limit 4 total).Pets stay for free!.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About customRules:Please throw out/take any food from the cupboards or refrigerator.
