There are cameras on the exterior of the home. They are motion activated, record video and audio, and are active during reservations. This helps us to avoid unauthorized events / parties. Our goal is for our guests and neighbors to both have an enjoyable experience! The place is centrally located in a wonderful lively area with constant foot traffic, great restaurants, etc - street noise is possible. If you are an especially light sleeper, or value quiet over location, we may not be a good fit for you. We provide ear plugs and white noise machines for your comfort. The ceiling height is about 6 feet 8 inches. We live in the upstairs house so it’s possible you may see us/others staying upstairs during your stay. All of the bedrooms are on the smaller side, ranging from 70 - 80 sq ft. When the trundle beds are pulled out for use, the beds will take up the majority of each room. For this reason, we have foldable / collapsible side tables, desks, and chairs which are stored in each room's closet for maximum flexibility. 🚭 NO SMOKING - We are a completely smoke-free property 🚙 Parking There is usually street parking available in the area. Pay attention to all parking signs to avoid tickets! If you'll have more than one vehicle, there are several parking lots 5-7 mins walking distance from the place. There are pictures of those options in the listing. 🦮 Pet limitations We are unable to accommodate animals other than dogs at this time. • any and all pets must be pre-approved by owner prior to booking • up to 2 dogs allowed (there is a fee per dog) • must be housebroken and up-to-date on vaccines • permitted on furniture only if covered • may not be left unattended at any time • back gate must be left closed when not in use • must be leashed in front yard • must comply with all local leash laws. We are a dog friendly property and we have a phenomenal cleaning team but they are human so there is a possibility for human error, if there is an issue during your stay let us know and we will try to address it! Since we are dog friendly, those with severe allergies will need to consider our home’s suitability for their unique needs. 🤫 Quiet Hours 11PM-7AM: You MUST keep noise to a minimum from 11pm to 7am. As a row house the walls are shared with the neighbors. Noise can travel easily, and we are in regular communication with neighbors. We request guests be respectful of the neighbors and quiet hours. GETTING AROUND The National Mall, Museums, US Capitol, and White House are all about a 10 min drive or 30 min walk away The nearest Metro station is about a 7-9 min walk and is the Mt. Vernon/Convention Center Metro Station - this station has yellow and green line trains running directly to Downtown DC, National Mall, Convention Center, Nat's Stadium, Reagan National Airport / DCA and can connect you to all Metro lines to access anywhere you want to go across the city. The House is located in the Shaw-Mt. Vernon Square area. Shaw is one of the city’s hippest enclaves, with craft cocktail bars, beer gardens, indie clothing boutiques and trendy global restaurants. This historically African-American neighborhood is home to the 1910 Howard Theatre, where jazz greats like Ella Fitzgerald and D.C. local Duke Ellington once performed. Today the venue hosts all sorts of music concerts and other events. Home to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Mount Vernon Square is a small area adjacent to its namesake park and the imposing early-1900s Carnegie Library building. The neighborhood is dotted with hotels, sleek bars and upscale New American, Italian and Spanish restaurants, which cater largely to conference-goers and a smartly dressed business crowd. This spacious apartment is an entire floor in a historic large Brownstone on a block of beautiful imposing historic homes. It features high 10' ceilings, recessed lighting, good natural light, and a large open kitchen & living room, giving it a bright and open feel. New hardwood floors, an open kitchen with counter seating and Viking appliances, and a full bath reveal thoughtful details in making this a comfortable and desirable retreat. The master bedroom has a queen bed, custom closet, and ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed and, a custom closet. Both rooms have lovely natural light and black-out shades. You will also find a comfortable queen sleeper sofa in the open living room. This lovely apartment is on Gallery Row (R Street between Connecticut and 21st Street), a stone's throw from The Phillips Collection and home to interesting restaurants, cafes, bistros, shops, spas, galleries, museums jazz clubs and parks. We are centrally located with easy walking to the ample cuisine choices throughout the neighborhood and it is easy to access all of the city via public transportation. There are abundant bike share, car share and scooter share opportunities nearby. Google the options or contact us for resources so that you can register in advance. You are in an ideal location for transit, 1.5 blocks away from the DuPont Metro Station (Red Line) at 20th and Q St. Leave your car at home, having a car in DC is more a liability than a convenience! If you are driving to DC and need parking, we do have one parking space (nightly fee) behind the home, check with us on availability. We can also order you a street parking permit. Welcome to this very spacious apartment located at the intersection of 4th & Pennsylvania Ave, SE which is only a ten minute walk to the US Capitol Grounds, House of Representatives, and The Supreme Court. This unique apartment features tile floors, a kitchen with dishwasher, 5-burner gas stove, central a/c, in-unit washer/dryer, a king bed with down and bamboo pillows, luxury bath products recessed lights, and a dedicated home office space all situated in picturesque Capitol Hill. We are looking forward to hosting you but there are a few things you need to do in order to make sure that you, and all of our guests, are safe and that everyone can enjoy their respective stays! This message also includes other useful information about pets, baby gear and parking: 1) Our properties are protected by Truvi. Please note that if you book a short-term rental (under 30 days), you will be contacted by Truvi directly to verify yourself. Please make sure this is completed prior to check-in. 2) Please confirm that you accept the following House Rules and Responsibilities on behalf of yourself and guests. A violation of the House Rules can result in an immediate termination of your reservation without refund. For the comfort of our guests, residents and members of the Sojourn team, smoking of any kind (marijuana, cigarettes, or vaping) is not permitted anywhere in the interior of our building or within fifty (50) feet of our building, including outdoor spaces. Should our team or neighbors report the odor of smoke we will contact the booking service, terminate your stay, claim any and all damages, including but not limited to a $500 smoking fee, and post the appropriate review. Parties and events are strictly prohibited. All Sojourn homes are equipped with noise monitoring devices (decibel readers), your privacy is safe however, noise levels exceeding normal levels are grounds for ending your stay and are strictly enforced. In the event we are notified of any excess noise, music, gathering or parties a Sojourn representative will respond and your reservation will be terminated without refund. Please also note that all Sojourn buildings and homes are equipped with some type of exterior camera that records the exterior and common areas to include all entries to the building. What NOT to Flush Down the Toilet or put down drains or in the garbage disposal - If found that these cause plumbing issues Sojourn can and will charge the guest. * Cooking Grease/Food/Coffee grinds should never be poured down any drain, period. ... * Feminine Products. Tampons and other feminine hygiene products are not supposed to be flushed down the toilet. * Baby Wipes/Wet Wipes/Cleaning Pads * Dental Floss * Q-tips/Cotton Balls * Diapers * Pills * Paper Towels/Tissues *Coffee grounds 3) We are happy to provide both a Pack and Play and/or high chair. These must be reserved in advance and a $25 rental fee will be charged. 4) If you are booking a flat in Washington DC please inquire about whether or not we any paid parking spaces available. Please note that neither Sojourn nor the property owner shall be held liable for any loss, theft, damage, or injury to the vehicle or any personal property therein, nor for any injury to the driver, passengers, or any other person, arising out of or in connection with the use of the parking space. Any use of the parking space is at the sole risk of the vehicle owner or driver. Neither Sojourn nor the owner guarantee the safety or security of any vehicle parked in the parking space and disclaims any responsibility for any acts of theft, vandalism, or other criminal activity.

No Smoking To keep things fresh and comfortable for all guests, smoking (including cigarettes, marijuana, and vaping) is not allowed inside the home or within 50 feet of the building—including outdoor spaces. If smoke is reported or detected, we may need to end your stay, apply a $500 cleaning fee, and report the issue to the booking platform. We hope you understand—it’s all about keeping the space pleasant for everyone. Parties or Events Quiet Enjoyment We love a good time—but we also love our peace and quiet! Parties and events aren’t allowed, and all of our homes have decibel readers that help us monitor for loud noise (don’t worry—they don’t record anything). If we receive a report about excessive noise or gatherings, a team member may check in, and your reservation could be canceled without refund. Thanks for helping us keep things serene for our neighbors and other guests! Security Notice All Sojourn properties are equipped with exterior security cameras, including coverage of entryways and common areas that are recording at all times. These are used for guest safety, property protection, and in some cases to ensure compliance with local city regulations. There are no interior cameras inside any of our homes. Plumbing Etiquette — What Not to Flush or Dispose Please only flush toilet paper—no wipes, feminine products, or anything else. And avoid putting grease or non-food items down the drain or garbage disposal. Plumbing repairs can be expensive, and we’d hate to have to pass that cost along to you! Linens & Care At Sojourn, we provide luxury linens of the highest quality for your comfort. We kindly ask that you help us care for them by following these guidelines. Do not use towels or bedding for cleaning, makeup removal, hair dye or any other activities that could permanently stain the linens. If linens are found to be permanently stained or damaged, we will request reimbursement for the cost of replacement. No Fireworks For your safety and to comply with local regulations, fireworks—including sparklers—are strictly prohibited at all Sojourn properties.. Pet Etiquette We’re delighted to welcome your furry companions at this pet-friendly property. To keep our homes clean and comfortable for all guests, please observe the following: Always clean up after your pet—indoors and outdoors. Dispose of waste in appropriate bins and avoid leaving messes in common or shared areas. Excessive pet hair, stains, or odors may result in additional cleaning charges. If our team arrives to find that pet waste has not been properly cleaned up or additional cleaning is required due to your pet, a $75 cleaning fee may be assessed.
