Hotel Palau Macelli

The room is definitely amazing and is one of the best hotel in Europe. The staffs are nice and the services are good. Hotel also provide SPA and massage services.

Simply stunning, the place had so much character. The staff were amazing. Rooms were spacious, immaculate and stylish. The garden, bar area at night and upstairs pool were also highlights. Highly recommend.

My husband and I went back to this gorgeous hotel for a weekend in early July and it was as perfect as ever! The team there are incredibly friendly and helpful, and they go out of their way to make your stay with them something really special. The hotel itself is a magnificent old building which has been beautifully restored and furnished with impeccable taste. The rooms are spacious and super-comfortable, and the location really tranquil. I thoroughly recommend spending some time by the rooftop pool with amazing views over the historic Basilica and old town, stretching far into the distance towards the sea; or relaxing over drinks and tapas in the beautiful gardens. This place is magical and wonderful. Thank you!!

We loved the Palau Macelli. The recently converted building, formerly belonging to an old Italian family, has a gorgeous courtyard, beautiful rooftop pool with views of the cathedral just across and the surrounding countryside. There is a small but very nicely done spa, and the hotel in general is extremely comfortable and elegant, yet laid-back. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

The hotel is stunning and beautifully updated in a wonderfully historic environment, so not the box in tower and so much the modern room in an ancient manor. For royalty-level luxury, you pay Holiday Inn rates (really, get out of Barcelona, enjoy Catalunya without the urban mark up). But, so much more, the staff are amazing. They will arrange rides for you, throw in some grapes with your Cava, call ahead to the museum to make sure there is luggage storage, and greet you personally on arrival, departure, and all trips in between. We booked two nights and, on the spur of the moment, decided to stay an extra night, use the spa and check out the town. The hotel only opened in 2021, and this morning we learned that they still have ALL the same staff, from the cleaning crew, to reception, to the servers; that tells you all you need to know. We would go again, and that says a lot since we NEVER go to the same place twice. Plus, the town is a historic jewel with character and a Michelin-starred restaurant (see our other post). This wasn’t in our guidebook, and the guidebook was wrong.
