Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel

Small rooms with thin walls so you can hear the noises from rooms next to you during the night. Nice pool but full of kids. I came here because they had a gym, which was nice but busy. Also hotel is hard to get to. It’s ok, but would go to other good alternatives our friends stayed at like Blu Galapagos or Angermeyer if I was looking again (even if they are cheaper we thought they were better)

Added on a few days to a cruise. Finch Bay was perfect. Staff was all excellent from maria at booking, through to organizing the return to the airport. It is a very short panga ferry ride from the town which is no problem

I will start by saying that the hotel has many positives — lovely, well maintained grounds, varied and delicious breakfast, and attentive, polite staff who are always eager to help. However, I was left very disappointed with my stay at Finch Bay Hotel. For the amount of money we paid, the experience fell far short of expectations. The hotel charges around £500 a night, twice the price of its neighbouring competitors and en par with luxury hotels in the middle of London and Paris. For this amount, guests should expect a certain level of comfort and amenities aligned with international five-star hotels. This was lacking, for example 1. Rooms are quite small by any standard. 2. No TV in the room. Whilst I applaud your efforts to promote sustainability, if you don’t want to place TVs in every room, don’t charge your guests this amount of money. One TV in your buisness centre doesn’t do. 3. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room 4. No bread heater at breakfast, sliced bread was cold. This is a very simple standard for any hotel aspiring to five-star service. 5. No slippers provided — only the bathrobe! 6. No option to purchase or be provided with still bottled water. You are proud of your filtered water, but considering the price I paid, I expect to have this option available to me when I request it. And it’s not about sustainability, you see sparkling bottled water! 7. The pool. It’s what I was looking forward to the most since it’s heated. The first day of using it I noticed some brown lumpy structures in the pool. Considering you share the pool with some guest ducks, I was quite concerned and alerted the wait staff. He said the pool needs cleaning! Did it get cleaned? No. I left it and could not shut the visual image out of my head for the rest of my stay. Never used it again. Overall, Finch Bay positions itself in the same price bracket as five-star hotels in major international cities, but the offering is nowhere near comparable. The service and facilities simply do not justify the cost, and I left feeling that completely short changed.

Had a wonderful stay at Finch Bay while traveling to the Galapagos. We were able to stay in the evolution suite which was truly magical and had a beautiful view of the ocean. Aandy was very wonderful and help us to arrange a truly incredible vacation. 10/10 would definitely stay again!

The Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel is A+ across the board. The hotel property is immaculate, the service is spectacular and the food is delicious. The pool is so inviting and they have staff that keeps the pool sparkling clean all day long (and with so many birds, that's no easy feat!). The Suites had a beautiful view of the harbor and a nice hammock. The morning buffet was lovely and had a great variety of foods. The living room area was comfortable and a perfect place to relax after dinner. The main callout goes to General Manager, Alfonso - who truly went above and beyond MULTIPLE TIMES to accommodate our every need. He always made us feel important and heard. He is the best hotel manager I have ever met. The Sea Lion Yacht is also great and very comfortable. But be prepared - getting to the hotel is a MAJOR TREK. Once you land at Baltra, its a bus ride to the ferry + ferry ride + 1 hour-ish drive across island + to another dock where you take a water taxi to the dock that's closest to the hotel + 3-5 min walk from the dock to the hotel itself. But if you are going to the Galapagos, trekking to the hotel will be the easiest part of your day. This is a BUSY and ACTIVE trip Booking the trip was the only issue I encountered as they have a concierge partner with Metro Journeys and although the team at MJ's tried to be helpful, they felt salesy and I needed to extract them from my travel plans.

We went for a dinner to the restaurant. Super good service. The food was delicious! The signature drinks were super good as well
