"Beautiful hotels, spacious and clean rooms.
The bathroom is large with a beautiful shower.
The rooms are cleaned every 3 days, you find shampoo, bathroom, chiabats, hairdryer need to be asked at the reception.
We had breakfast included that you had to choose the day before, it is not abundant and a little monotone.
The hotel is near the sea but the beach is not beautiful and the sea is dirty.
To find the beautiful sea you need to make h 1 .15 /1.30 machine or motor.

"The place is very relaxing ,the most I like is my room is infront of the swimming pool..which I can see my children easily while their are swimming..the staff are nice, and the location is not too far from the airport"
"Very nice property & all the staff are very courteous from the driver that picks us up to everyone that walk by you in the property. The receptionist, chambermaids, the waiters are all giving superb customer service. Very clean property but the telephone & remote control needs to be sanitized —- the phone smells & the tv remote control is very sticky with all the oils from hands. I would highly recommend this beautiful resort."

"It was absolutely worth booking this hotel again for my family. We stayed in Villa 102, which had a stunning ocean view that made the experience even more special. The resort also has its own waterpark, where my family ended up spending most of our time. It was a fun and relaxing getaway, perfect for both kids and adults. Highly recommend this resort for families!"
"Cleanliness: 9/10
The room was clean, nice, and tidy. The pillows, bedsheets, and blankets smelled freshly laundered, and the floor and furniture were spotless. Cleanliness is highly maintained not just inside the room, but also in the hallways and other public areas. They do housekeeping every day, change the towels regularly, and always make sure your hygiene kit is fully stocked.
The only issue I had was on my first day—the room wasn’t prepared according to my request, possibly due to an oversight. I had to be transferred to another room, and while it didn’t smell very pleasant at first, it was still clean overall.
Location: 10/10
If you're looking for a peaceful place with a great view but still not too far from the city center, this is perfect! It’s not far from the airport and is surrounded by restaurants, drugstores are near, small stores for cheap things to buy, nearby malls, and groceries—but then the area isn’t crowded. It strikes a great balance between convenience and tranquility.
Btw, if you are just travelling for leisure (DIY),renting a motor to go around is much cheaper than getting a tricycle
Service: 10/10
I stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days, traveling alone. The staff made me feel really comfortable and were always ready to help with anything I needed—from check-in to check-out. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Filipino hospitality was truly evident here (Im a Filipino). Special shoutout to the restaurant staff who served breakfast and other meals—they were always smiling, friendly, and attentive.
Amenities: 10/10
Everything was in excellent condition and worked perfectly. I especially appreciated the free airport shuttle—it was very helpful and convenient. Since I was also attending to some paperwork during my stay, I was happy to be able to relax and enjoy the amenities in between.
Definitely worth the price. I’ll surely come back!"
"We wanted to experience the beauty of nature and be close to the underground river tour so we booked this place. This place is absolutely beautiful and everything here is organic. The breakfast is served on time in your villa and everything is freshly harvested and cooked for you. If you want peace, tranquility and the sound of nature then this is the perfect place for you and your loved ones. This place is 1.5 hours away from the airport but 7 minutes away from the underground river tour. It was well worth our stay and we will be back. The staff was absolutely helpful and did everything they could to accommodate us as our check in time was 2am. Thank you Sheridan Organic Farm"
"Service was great, friendly staff who helped my colleagues and I to book a restaurant reservation at short notice. Rooms were really spacious, great for organising our luggage. Amenities were more than sufficient, and wifi and AC was great as well. The location was close to a bunch of drive thrus (Jollibee etc) and it’s across the street from the mall. Just overall great stay!"
"location was not properly identified. Similar reddoor names nearby the location. Elevator was not working. Room has mosquitos and we requeated insect killer spray, Bed has protruding nail which can damaged. Your legs, bedit spray was damaged."
"Perfect welcome and the gentleman at the reception helped me a lot with a taxi who wanted to rip me off, telling me you'll see, we'll ask the receptionist and that it's the real price only he himself was in shock at the amount for a trip 4 minutes yes really 4 minutes by car as it was the middle of the night and I didn't know the place only I knew very well that he was lying. The receptionist and him spoke to each other in their language and told her that it was not correct. The hotel was magnificent with its garden even though it rained a lot. I met 3 cats from the hotel. Thanks to him for the help anyway :)"

Amazing
Nnigel sohI had the most amazing time during my stay at The Funny Lion. First and most important thing to mention is how amazing the staff were. From the coffee bar to the restaurant, every person treated me with such warmth and grace, and some of them even remembered my name.
Secondly, the food was great. The morning breakfast had a great array of options with some Filipino elements which I looked forward to every morning. Enjoying some garlic rice and eggs next to the sunlit pool was a perfect start to the morning.
Location was great too, close to the airport and a short ride away from nice cafes (nothing to too far in PP to be honest). You could also take a boat or kayak out to the sand bar which is such a nice touch to complete the full experience offered by the resort.
Rooms were big, clean and amenities were amazing. All in all, I only have praises for TFL, I will definitely stay here again should I ever return to Palawan.
CCLEMONThe resort grounds are really beautiful; the pictures don't do this place justice. It's not huge, but our villas were much bigger than they looked in the photos, and the pool was much bigger than expected. The service was fantastic, and the food was also quite good, particularly the breakfast and the shrimp pasta with white wine sauce. Jason was also great at helping us organize enjoyable day tours on Palawan. There was a bit of heavy rain and flooding around the resort but not within it, which resulted in a few very brief (2-5 minute) blackouts during our stay, but overall it was a great resort and a super comfortable stay. Highly recommended!
JJiro YuanOur overnight stay at Citystate Asturias Hotel proved to be a delightful introduction to Puerto Princesa, offering a warm welcome and impeccable service from start to finish.
From the moment we arrived at the hotel after a long flight, we were greeted by an exceptional team of staff who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Despite the numerous bags we had in tow, every member of the staff, from the guard to the receptionist, eagerly assisted us, making us feel truly valued as guests. A special mention must be made for Henry at the Front Desk, whose hospitality and professionalism stood out during our stay. From arranging our airport transfer to facilitating our check-in and check-out, Henry's dedication to ensuring our needs were met was evident at every turn, making him a true asset to the hotel.
Entering our room, we were pleasantly surprised by its cozy charm. While it may not boast the sleek modernity of newer establishments, the room offered everything we needed and more. The comfortable furnishings, coupled with thoughtful amenities, provided a relaxing haven after a day of travel.
One of the highlights of our stay was the complimentary buffet breakfast offered at Citystate Asturias Hotel. With a wide array of options to choose from, ranging from local delicacies to international favorites, the breakfast spread exceeded our expectations in both variety and taste. It was a delightful start to our day, setting the tone for a memorable stay in Puerto Princesa.
Overall, our experience at Citystate Asturias Hotel was marked by exceptional hospitality, comfortable accommodations, and delectable dining options. For anyone seeking a welcoming retreat in Puerto Princesa, this hotel comes highly recommended, thanks to its attentive staff, cozy rooms, and sumptuous breakfast offerings.
AAnonymous UserWe recently spent a few nights here and overall, it was a decent experience. The cleanliness of the hotel was good, although I did notice that the chairs in our room could use a vacuum, as they had some dark stains. Additionally, the room’s smell could be improved to create a more welcoming atmosphere upon arrival.
On the plus side, I absolutely loved the mattress and comforter; they made for a very comfortable sleep. The location is a major advantage, being right in front of the mall, making it easy to access shopping and dining options.
The staff were generally nice and accommodating, though I found the waiter at the restaurant to be a bit shy. He seemed to lack communication skills, as he didn’t greet customers or smile, which detracted from the overall experience. I think he could benefit from some additional training in customer service.
As for the food, while it was fine, I felt that the prices were a bit steep considering the typical quality and serving sizes.
In summary, while it's not a luxury hotel, it provides a decent stay with comfortable accommodations and a good location. It just needs a few improvements in cleanliness, ambiance, and service training to enhance the guest experience. I appreciated the thoughtful touch of receiving pens upon checkout :)
GGuest UserIt’s a great experience! We had a wonderful room and great service. We really enjoy the atmosphere and the villa type Field. The sunshine and the staff are wonderful! I’ll give this Hotel five 🌟 !!! we can’t wait to go back here
KKenDucsWe recently had the pleasure of staying here, and I must say it was one of the cleanest hotels I've experienced in Palawan. The location is incredibly convenient, making it easy to access local attractions. However, there was some noise from a nearby bar late at night. It wasn't too distracting for me, especially on the higher floors, so I recommend requesting one of those if you’re sensitive to sound.
The hotel itself is well-maintained, likely due to its recent renovations. The elevator, though small, was smooth and always clean, which added to the overall pleasant experience. The bathroom was a highlight—very clean and comfortable, although I did find the water heater a bit challenging to adjust.
Each room features a smart lock and a smart TV with Netflix and other apps, which is a nice touch. The Wi-Fi was reliable, even on the highest floor, allowing for seamless browsing.
One area for improvement would be the bedding. While the mattress and pillows were decent, a thicker comforter would enhance the sleeping experience, as the provided blanket was quite thin.
The staff were friendly and accommodating, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. While this may not be a luxury hotel, it offers excellent cleanliness and customer service, making it a great choice for travelers. I would certainly consider staying here again!
MMileKruminaThe hotel has a beautiful pool and nice entrance. The people are kind and attentive. The room is basic and kind of dark as if you open the curtains people can see you from outside. Every room has air conditioning and a water heater which was really good. The bed was comfortable and the room had a fridge. You need to take a tuk tuk (150 pesos per ride) to go anywhere but that was fine with me. What I really disliked is the price of the food. It was the most expensive menu I’ve seen in the Philippines for normal food, not even fancy and really average taste. Just because of this I’d not stay here again. But overall, the rooms are okay.
GGuest UserThere was something wrong with the water heater. Even at the lowest setting, the water was still very, very hot. I told the management, but he couldn't do anything.
There were spiders on the ceiling, spider webs on the curtains, ants on the table, and a piece of soap in the bathroom that was not cleaned up by the previous guest.
There is a swimming pool and garden outside, and the environment is pretty good. You get what you pay for.
VVanCitadel (the name of one of the owners) is probably the ”best for the money” mini-resort in Puerto Princesa! My room had a king bed, was comfortable and included satellite TV, a fridge and sink area. The grounds a pool are clean, neat and look great. The pool is amazing for a property size. Even though the Citadel is located 1.5km away from one of the main roads and the Robinson's Mall there are small food stores nearby for basic needs. It's easy to get a tricycle from the road near the property to just about anywhere in the Puerto area. Do ask one of the locals what the fare should be to the placey you want to go.
Francois and Citadel, the owners are very nice and helpful. You will enjoy your at the Citadel!
BONUS TIP: Just up the road (north) to the left is a food store and cafe on the right side of the road. Inside is a dental office run by Dr Joy Zapanta. She offers a full range of dental services. I got my teeth cleaned for about US$20. I could see dental tourism as a future business for Dr Joy. Enjoy your stay at the Citaldel and get all your dental work done!
EEnrique MiceliThe best thing about this hotel is its beachfront location, offering spectacular views and a charming atmosphere. Although there are a few minor maintenance issues, the hotel is a gem—beautiful and cozy. The price is quite reasonable, and the staff's attention is excellent. I would definitely stay here again. The sunsets and the experience of watching the tide come in and out are unforgettable. I give it a 10 out of 10.
