After a long day travelling we arrived at this hotel around 10pm very tired. We were met by unfriendly reception staff and were instantly told the rules of the hotel, what we can and cannot do and demanded €100 deposit. We booked through on the beach and were not told at any point about a deposit needing paid. The deposit was to be paid by a credit or debit card which we did not have with us as we only took enough cash for the holiday with us. After a half hour argument with the reception staff we were told to hand over our passports until the next day when we would be required to pay this. I asked them if they wanted me to pop back to the uk for our cards and come back which was obviously a joke but they were not interested in helping even after we explained we knew nothing about this. The next day the receptionist was up banging on the bedroom door with the card reader in her hand demanding payment and told if we didn’t pay there and then we would be asked to leave the hotel immediately which was very unfair as we had paid the full amount for our stay. This made us feel very uncomfortable and on edge. This went on for the next 4 days until eventually they gave up but kept our passports. Our passport would only be returned if they agreed the room was in ok condition. This really did spoil our holiday as we did not feel welcome in the hotel. Customer service was very poor. Thankfully we did get our passports back at check out but their attitude was terrible. Hotel was clean but lots of stairs to get up and down from main restaurants and beach. We booked a superior double room with a sea view and were given 2 single beds made up as single beds pushed together and we could see the shore and the beach no sea view which again they would not help us fix after we complained. Would not return to this hotel, I have visited Puerto Rico on many occasions and this is by far the worst hotel Iv stayed in there. Very basic hotel. Breakfast was basic but did the job.

Arrived after a 4.5 hour flight, a 45 min transfer to our accommodation being received by a non welcoming receptionist more invested in reiterating hotel rules than welcoming you to a much needed holiday. Rooms basic though not fantastically clean, and facilities fair with no toaster, (self catering) making a breakfast with only a grill microwave (no instructions) a challenge to say the least. (12 minutes to grill 2 slices of bread - thanks to an extensive google search on the model). Maybe eating out is a better option. 174 steps to ground level/ beach, so choose taxi at 3.70 € rather than risk cardiac arrest, and hotel very open with little privacy. That being said, some gems amongst the area below. venture out and you get some lovely areas and opt for the part beyond the basic shopping centre for some food places that offer lovely options. Tipsy Bee was amazing for cocktails and food, and for breakfast a bit further out at lamittina was brilliant, so we managed to survive the self catering nightmare. we ate 3x at Bandidos in the precinct as the food was so good, and a trip to the dunes was a welcomed break. I would say go for a good hotel to enhance your experience as ours was a disappointment, but the beach is nice, and the food amazing and if your happy to walk a little out of the immediate area, you’ll find some lovely areas to restore your faith in the resort x

We stayed on the 3 floor in the Natchasol (hotel) part.great view of the beach thank you for placing us on the top floor after our request in advance much appreciated. Great view espeacially in evenings with a sunny balcony from mid morning till late evening.The hotel its self had a fresh modern look it has a very large rooftop area with jacuzxi...it also has a pool area downstairs with jacuzzi beautifully lit at night in neon blue.. Rooms were nice too the bathroom was spacious with plenty shelf space shower area could be doing with grout refresh and tidy....beds comfortable ,and room cleaning was on offer 5 days of a week ....the rooms were cleaned to a basic standard but not thoroughly...the holiday was booked as a self catering stay however although there was a mini fridge with small box freezer,microwave, hob .there was no toaster which was dissapointing as I would say that that would have been a very basic ask for a self catering holiday...It was also a issue talked about with fellow guest we spoke to...On complaining to the management she strongly stated that it was the owners rule that couldn't be changed. I asked a reason for it and she said its just the rules ,and she cut the conversation saying adamently.t That's it there was no negotiation .apparently, there are toasters in The Yaisasol, which is fully self catering.....The location is good though hilly. there's are steep steps then a bridge to get down to down to the pathway to the beach and where the Spar shop(lovey bakery in shop) is maybe around a 6-8 minute walk ...its a steep climb back up, gets easier as the holiday goes on ....there is also paths to walk to both the beach snd commercial centre these take longer but are easier than climbing steep stairs....there are also taxis ready available everywhere if your mobility is limited...we never took them but heard they are around 3 euro to the main centre. Must do is take the ferry to Mogan 13 Euro per person return from the marina it a lovely trip sea air is refreshing we seen flying fish the twice, we went by standing at the bottom part of the front of the ferry..Market day is Friday although busy and lots of stalls it jam packed .it's also nice to go on a non marker day where it quieter and you can take in the peacefulness and charm of Mogan.Amadores beach is another lovely walk. At the last part of the marina take the steps up onto the pathway it takes you a coastal walk with great views to Amadores again lots of lovely resturaunts and touristy shops.....Puerto Rico is all about walking and stairs if you dont take a taxi but its intresting and lots to do....would definately return if price is right.

As I lay by the pool on our last day here, I thought this was a good time to write a review. We have loved every minute of our stay. Breakfast buffet has lots of choice, banana pancakes highly recommend! Staff are really friendly and helpful. We locked ourselves out of the safe, they came really quickly to sort it. The hotel is spotless and small enough to be a quiet and peaceful place, the pool area is beautiful and clean. Lots of steps down to the town, but that helped burn off the aforementioned pancakes! Only qualm is the towels in the room were a bit small and cheap, but that's a very small moan which didn't affect our stay. There is a luggage store and we have booked a complimentary half hour slot to shower and change before heading to the airport. We absolutely loved this place!
