Royalton CHIC Antigua, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort - Adults Only

Came here to celebrate my birthday my fiancé advised the customer service about it and they said they will bring something to our unit however nothing came. Also the TV was nit working also there’s something dripping in our room. The service in the restaurant and at the bar was good. Was looking forward for my birthday to be memorable but sad to say I was disappointed.

​I want to express my profound disappointment and frustration regarding my recent stay at the Royalton Chic Punta Cana. This trip was meant to be a much-needed escape, a celebration of our 18th wedding anniversary and my birthday—a rare opportunity for my husband and I to decompress as working parents of two children with special needs. Having stayed at other Royalton Resorts, I arrived with high expectations, but what I experienced was nothing short of a complete letdown. ​From the very beginning, my experience was plagued with issues. The welcome email I received from the resort on August 19th felt like an empty gesture; I never received a response to my questions, despite waiting over 13 days. The check-in at the Diamond Club was equally underwhelming. The space was small, lacked a bar or food as is typical, and was staffed by a single person struggling to manage both check-ins and check-outs. We were offered no room upgrade, and the so-called "presidential suite" I had booked had a view of nothing but rooftops and other buildings—hardly what one would expect from a premium room. ​The disappointment continued upon arrival at our building. The overpowering smell of paint thinner and a general sense of construction and neglect greeted us. My presidential suite (room 4306) was in a state of disrepair with a list of issues including: ​a cracked screen door ​a cracked marble nightstand ​stuck nightstand drawers ​missing bathrobes and glassware missing tissue box ​and a room door so stuck it was nearly impossible to close.Poor lighting Often no liners on the trash bin Poor restocking of snacks and improper closure of minibar leaving drinks hot.  ​While our butler, Joan, was attentive and sent an engineer, the "solutions" were temporary fixes—an admission of a lack of proper maintenance from the very start. ​Dinner that evening at Hunter steakhouse was a complete disaster. We were seated outside where the non-working fans provided no relief, and the lighting was so poor we had to use a phone flashlight to read the menu. When our food arrived, it was cold and nearly inedible. For the first time in my life, I was so disgusted that I had to walk out of a restaurant mid-service. The buffet was no better, and I was forced to retreat to our room, defeated and ordering room service. ​The frustration didn’t end there. Room service was a struggle; the menu was extremely limited, with no option to order simple items like ice or additional condiments. The app was equally useless, restricting the number of selections and offering no human interaction. This was not the relaxing, seamless experience I had hoped for. ​The rest of the stay was a series of letdowns that tarnished our trip. The Mermaid pool was in a state of disrepair with broken decks and crumbling stairs, and the water was noticeably dirty. The beach was an eyesore, a mountain of uncleaned sargassum. The resort next door seemed to have better control over the situation. Even a "Diamond Club

I recently stayed at the Royalton Chic Resort and, unfortunately, my experience was less than memorable. I would not recommend this resort if you’re coming for the food as it was underwhelming at best. There were times during the day when no restaurants were open, and even simple items like hamburgers were disappointing. I’m honestly not sure how a hamburger could be that bad. The beach was overrun with seaweed, which created a strong, unpleasant smell. Additionally, if you don’t pay extra for a butler, you may find yourself walking up and down three flights of stairs because there is no elevator definitely not ideal.

The resort itself is beautiful! The pools are great and a lot of different seating options. The food was a little disappointing, not all restaurants were open every night which made it hard to make reservations. The beaches were full of seaweed and we were not able to use it at all. The staff was wonderful however, and did whatever they could to make our stay better. There was a bunch of construction going on and the rooms were a bit dated. The spa and gym were very very nice, highlight of the trip.

The hotel is run down. Furniture is old and dirty. No working TV, telephone, fan and mold in the room. I complaint various times and no one came to repair these items.
