We stayed for 6 nights in the Castle for our honeymoon. Our butler Emilio was fantastic, he arranged our tours and transportation, our dinner reservations and also kept us in the loop about events happening at the hotel. He was so friendly and warm, we genuinely miss him. Emilio went above and beyond to make sure our trip went smoothly and that we had a great time. Our room was very clean and the AC worked great (amazing for the DR heat). Check in was a breeze and the hotel aesthetic was straight out of a magazine, it was so beautiful. The Wok restaurant was amazing!!! We went 3 nights in a row, the food was so delicious. The buffet also had a good variety of food to choose from, which was ok. The only downside was the lack of a swimmable beach nearby but that's on us because it is peak seaweed season, however the sanctuary had like 6 pools to choose from so that made up for it. There's also not alot of resort activities, not sure if that's because the resort didn't have alot of guests at the time of our stay? Also if nightlife is what you prefer, this resort isn't for you. The crowd is more mature and the party scene doesn't really exist here. There's also no smart tv! (I know this is a small detail but we were looking forward to chromecasting our fave show and watching it but we couldn't do that, so bear that in mind)

My wife and I visited Sanctuary Capa Cana in March 2025. We had tried another all inclusive resort in Jamaica and were unimpressed. The food there was “just fine” (not great) and the overall resort was again “just fine” too. When we looked to try another we saw the ratings on Trip Advisor for Sanctuary and decided to give it a try. We are in the “more mature” age group and wasn’t interested in the whole party pool experience so we selected a Castle room looking for a quiet experience. Upon arrival we met Emelio or butler for the duration of our stay. My wife used a scooter and we wee able to get a room that allowed her to come and go without using the elevator and that was great. We also had some unusual requests I won’t get into in this forum and Emelio really came thru and exceeded every expectation. He was able to arrange for a set of lounges by the castle pool for us to use every day and we really enjoyed their use daily. About the resort. The facilities were outstanding. The rooms were very large, extremely comfortable and very well appointed. The restaurants were very good and the service in them was outstanding. For example, the staff at breakfast were always able to find us a table where we could roll the scooter up to the table and my wife could spin the scooter seat and eat without having to move to a regular chair. By the third day the staff recognized and welcomed us by name, had everything ready when we got there, and were great. I wish I could remember them by name to call them out here but they all were amazing. The Castle pool was exactly what we were looking for. Quiet, comfortable, and a bar and food less than 20 paces away. I didn’t try the spa but my wife did use the salon services and was quite happy with the results. One hint: as expected, the drinks were quite light in alcohol content (had three and felt quite normal) so if you are looking for a buzz, order a shot with your tropical drink and add it yourself. Overall, this resort meet and exceeded our expectations for an all-inclusive resort. We never and never felt the need to leave the resort but there are many opportunities to go if that is your desire. And Emelio and the Castle staff were great.

We recently spent five wonderful days at Sanctuary Cap Cana and chose to stay at The Castle. From the very first day, Emilio made our stay exceptional. He warmly welcomed us, drove us around the resort in a golf cart, and introduced us to all the restaurants and facilities. Every morning he thoughtfully sent us reminders about the day’s activities, which helped us make the most of our time. Since some of the popular restaurants require reservations, Emilio always checked with us the evening before or early in the morning about our dinner plans, and he would secure the reservations for us in advance. This level of care made our vacation completely stress-free and relaxing. On our last evening, he even surprised us with champagne and cake in our room, adding such a romantic and memorable touch to our trip. Emilio’s attention to detail and genuine hospitality made our experience truly unforgettable. We are deeply grateful for his help and could not have been more satisfied with our stay. Highly recommend both Sanctuary Cap Cana and the wonderful service provided by Emilio!

We had an amazing time / very relaxing. This is a very nice, low key vacation. It’s perfect if you are looking for a quite relaxing time. Our Butler, Angel, was the absolute best. He arranged everything we needed and was beyond amazing. He is an exceptional person and truly cares about taking care of everything you could possibly need. We would come back in a heartbeat!

This was a fantastic trip. A little about me. I am on over 100 planes a year and spend 180 plus night in Marriotts a year. I am 1K with United Airlines & Ambassador with Marriott, plus a lifetime Titanium with Marriott. Besides business I have traveled extensively for pleasure with family. This by far is the best experience on a vacation we have had in a long time. The food is absolutely phenomenal, with different choices all the time. You have the Buffett for breakfast and lunch, plus one night a week you have a DR Buffett. Don't miss that, as you get a full island experience. The rest of the nights you have to make reservations at one of there restaurants. All of the restaurants are exceptional and our favorites were the Italian & Asian. We did not eat in the Steak House as we live in Vermont and get our steaks Etc. from local farms. We were upgraded to a suite in the Castle complete with dipping pool etc. Our butler was Angel and it would take hours to tell you how great he was. As other people have said he knows your wishes before you do. More about Angel later. There are so many pools that we never had a problem getting a chair, but only stayed at the big pool with the music and activities once, as we opted for all the guiet pools on this vacation. As far as friendliness and cleanliness A+ PERIOD. A special shout out to the following people, and I know I am missing a lot of names, for that I am truly SORRY. Had not one bad experience with anyone Breakfast Ginnette, Maria and a 3rd that we don't have a name for. Anderson, Jose & Felix making for the best breakfast every morning and dinners at the Italian restaurant. Everyone at the desks in the Castle, Guadalupe, Rebel, Wandy & Mileisy. Angel you were the best. PLEASE PLEASE remember when you visit to make sure you TIP these incredible people who work SO SO HARD. My wife and I both went to the Spa. I had a 90 minute stone massage and my wife had a 60 minute massage and a 30 minute fascial. The entire experience was great and well worth it. Don't miss the restaurants in Sanctuary City. They do have great pizza For the people that thought the food was bad stick to McDonald's For the people that complained about the seaweed and yes there were huge amounts but I already new that prior to going while googling the hotel. News flash, you sound stupid when you complain, as no one controls Mother Nature. As all the people that said they had stuff stolen, the only thing I can say is SHAME ON YOU. For the tourists that said the people at the resort were not nice, SHAME ON YOU AS WELL. One last thing for all the people that complain about no chairs, can't make restaurant reservations etc. If you go to any resort during high season it's going to be busy.
