We are currently staying at the "el beso" hotel which is connected to the "Ocean el Faro" hotel. The bar service and cleanliness are amazing 5/5. However, the experience at the beach is very sad; outdated chairs, no bar service, wi-fi is not very accessible, and unfortunately the beach is covered with algae :(

I stayed at Ocean El Beso, the adults-only side of Ocean El Faro, and unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing resort experiences I’ve ever had. The food was consistently horrible, bland, poorly prepared, and in my case, it even led to food poisoning on my birthday. The service was lacking, and when things weren’t delivered as promised, management chose to argue instead of resolving the issue. To make matters worse, the resort attempted to overcharge us for the entire stay by removing a discount that had been clearly applied at the time of booking. It took unnecessary back-and-forth to have it corrected, which was frustrating and unprofessional. The Privilege upgrade and butler service were not worth the additional cost — the butler was rarely available, and the “exclusive” areas offered little to no improvement in service or amenities. The resort claims to be 100% smoke-free, but this policy is not enforced at all. When we raised concerns about guests openly smoking in shared spaces, management insisted we were the ones confused about the rules, which was both dismissive and disrespectful. Beware of the SPA services — once booked, they cannot be cancelled or refunded, even if your plans change or you experience issues during your stay. This policy is not clearly communicated upfront and feels like another way the resort fails to prioritize guest satisfaction. The one highlight of our stay was the lobby bar, which offered the best service and atmosphere of all the available options. Overall, Ocean El Beso at Ocean El Faro fails to deliver on its promises of quality, comfort, or professionalism. Between bad food, poor management, unenforced policies, and unfair practices, I cannot recommend this resort and would not return.

Liked the different pool options and Lazy river and different meal options My Butler Deiby kept me well informed on daily events and the housekeeper Erica kept my room spotless

Was ok. Food wasn’t good, only good thing was the lazy river. Specialty restaurant wasn’t good - Italia. We ended up only eating at the buffet which had mediocre food. Never got my wine for my room. Overall I rested but waste of money

Pro: good Wi-Fi signal, staff is great (friendly and happy), clean, we were assigned Jose Miguel as our butler, he was excellent. Jose was helpful and always in a good mood, great person. Things that can improve: food and entertainment.
