Premier Inn Edinburgh (South Queensferry)

Great alternative hotel for someone traveling in Edinburgh, the 43 bus take you straight from city center to the hotel. There's McDonalds and M&S Food Hall near the hotel.

Very Good bed room, and Very Clean and hygienic.

Lady at reception Tari was welcoming and really helpful, helped us when we had difficulties finding a taxi. Rooms were comfy and clean and staff at reception were always really polite and helpful whenever needed, would stay again………………..

The staff were so nice and friendly. The bed was abit uncomfortable.. and the neighbours were moving every bit of furniture they could. The walls are paper thin... I don't think I slept no more than 2 hours... with a flight early in the morning too 😮‍💨

The hotel is about ten miles from central Edinburgh with decent public transport links - five minute walk to a bus stop and then about 40 to 55 minutes depending on traffic, or a 20 train journey from Dalmeny station (a mile and a half from the hotel). There's limited free parking at the hotel for guests. Most of the rest of South Queensferry is a nightmare for parking although there's some free parking at Dalmeny station. This is a fairly typical Premier Inn - functional, with all the basics but very few extras. Our room was comfortable enough for a short stay but you wouldn't want to find space for 2 weeks' worth of luggage. We were well insulated from traffic noise though this could be a problem in warm weather with the window open. Our only real quibble was breakfast - local radio station blaring out over the tannoy alternating between shouty presenters and screechy "music". This may be a ploy to discourage you from staying too long as you pay a flat rate for breakfast and can eat as much as you want. There's a decent selection of food although everything in the "hot" buffet was cold. This is a decent budget option if you need a hotel near Edinburgh Airport or as a base for a few days in Edinburgh - it's usually around 30% to 40% cheaper than Premier Inn places in central Edinburgh.

We spent 4 nights at the hotel in a family room. The room and a bathroom were nice and clean. Breakfast was also delicious. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We used local buses to get to Edinburgh. It was so much easier than with a car. Bus stop is 5 minutes walk from a hotel and every 10 minutes. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.
