Casa El Edén

Blanco and Mario are wonderful hosts and went of their way to make us feel welcome - the hotel itself is an utterly cool place to stay and is located a few blocks away from Independence plaza. The breakfasts were solid with coffee, fruit, yogurt, granola and eggs as you want them. I would rate this as 10 stars on a scale of 1-5 stars.

A hidden gem in Quito Hi highly recommend this hidden gem of a hotel near Old Town Quito. Mario and Blanco were fantastic hosts from helping us during our very late arrivals, to a wonderful breakfast each morning, helping us with suggestions on where to go in Old Town, making our dinner reservation & transport to the airport. All were perfect!

This is absolutely the best place to stay in Quito I'm sure. The rooms are amazing and immaculate. Mario & Blanca are the most superb hosts - we really felt like we were part of their family. We stayed twice before our trip to Galapagos and after and would recommend to anyone planning to stay in Quito. The breakfast is superb and quite frankly we cannot fault the place

We spent our final night in Ecuador at Casa El Edén, and it was truly the perfect ending to our trip. From the moment we arrived, Mario and Blanca made us feel like long-awaited guests rather than first-time visitors. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail made our stay unforgettable. Our room was beautifully appointed with a very comfortable bed and a strong, refreshing shower—just what we needed after days of travel. Mario kindly recommended a fantastic nearby restaurant and even lent us an umbrella for the walk there, a small but thoughtful gesture that speaks volumes about the care they provide. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely beautiful—fresh, delicious, and served with the same warm hospitality. While we waited for our airport transfer, Mario and Blanca offered us tea and welcomed us to join in the atmosphere of their family pizza dinner. It was the kind of genuine hospitality you rarely find, and it made us feel completely at home. We can’t recommend Casa El Edén highly enough. If you’re in Quito, do yourself a favor and spend a night (or more!) here. It’s more than a stay—it’s an experience.

Wir wurden von einem ausgesprochen herzlichen und freundlichen Ehepaar empfangen, das sich während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts liebevoll um uns gekümmert hat. Jeden Morgen wurde ein frisches, abwechslungsreiches Frühstück mit viel Liebe zum Detail zubereitet – ein wunderbarer Start in den Tag! Unser Zimmer war angenehm ruhig gelegen, sehr sauber und gemütlich eingerichtet – ideal zum Entspannen nach einem erlebnisreichen Tag. Insgesamt war es der schönste Aufenthalt, den wir bisher hatten. Die Unterkunft strahlt eine warme, familiäre Atmosphäre aus, in der man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Wir können diesen Ort uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und würden jederzeit gerne wiederkommen!

Mario and Blanca run a fantastic operation at Casa El Eden. We are just off a four-night stay with them and couldn’t be happier with our visit. Mario could not have been kinder and more helpful. Want something specific? He can help. Laundry needed? Same day. Need a recommendation or info? Done - and/or he calls a friend. He really went out of his way to ensure that our every question was answered, and every need met. He helped arrange airport transportation both ways and even helped deliver some paintings that we acquired in Quito but were not taking with us right away. He stays up late awaiting the taxi driver when he knows you are coming in, and he always beats you to the front door to unlock it and usher you in or out. Just an all-around incredible proprietor and gracious host. The building itself is a refurbished house in Quito’s Old Town, with all of the charm that that entails. The rooms are situated around a central, covered courtyard that fills the space with light. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable, and modern (the bathroom in particular!) Breakfast was always freshly prepared and delicious. After several big dinners, we typically had to eat rather light in the mornings but Mario and/or Blanca were always kind enough to send coffee up to our room when this was the case. I’d give them 10/10 and would happily return to Casa El Eden in a future visit to Quito.
