Booked our room for a price and joined the rewards program to get a discount. When we got there, it was way more than what we booked it as. The woman at the counter pulled a bait and switch on us. We were so tired from our long drive, we gave up reasoning with her. The stairs going up to our room was filthy and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned or vacuumed in a long time. There were beverage drip marks on the wood. Our room was disgusting!!! Gross stains on the carpet. Sticky counters in the room. Mold on the wall and carpet in the corner. The wall near the window had crumbling plaster falling off. The furniture was so old and in poor condition. The smoke detector on the ceiling was hanging down. The carbon monoxide detector was falling off the wall. The bathroom counter was scratched up wood, with paint chipped all over it. The lamps were scratched all over. The lamp shade had dried blood on it. We were afraid to touch anything. We went out and bought a can of Lysol. There were large bugs crawling on my coffee cup. Yikes!!! The breakfast was sub par, with no hot water for tea, machines not working. The tables were dirty and we asked ours to be wiped down. The sign out front should have been an indicator as to what a dump this place was. The sign was cracked with tape over it, the tape looked like it had been there for a long time; as it was peeled off and falling off the broken plastic sign saying Best Western. We didn’t notice until the next morning in the daylight. I took pictures of all listed above for evidence if asked for proof. I’m reaching out to Best Western Corporate to tell them about this place. Definitely not what I expected from this hotel chain. Shame on them!! Gross!!

I stayed at the Best Western Plus in Poughkeepsie, NY during Parents Weekend October 3rd for Marist University and discovered live bedbugs in my room thank goodness before bed. I took photos and immediately reported it to the front desk. Staff acknowledged my complaint but told me that management was unavailable for the entire weekend. I was offered another room, but after finding multiple bedbugs, I did not feel it was safe to remain on the property. I left that night and checked into the DoubleTree, which cost me ALOT on a sold out weekend. I was just happy to be out of there! Despite providing proof and following up, I was told no refund would be issued. I have contacted the Dutchess County Health Department to file a report so this can be properly investigated. This was handled very poorly—especially given that it was a sold-out Parents Weekend event. Guests deserve safe, sanitary conditions and responsive management. I would strongly avoid this property at all costs!!

Hubby and I were planning a lovely weekend getaway while attending a relative's birthday party. We were excited to find this property and didn't mind the cost, as it seemed to have some suites, extra amenities, plus views of a river and falls. What we got for a ridiculously high price was the opposite of what we had hoped for. Our car and the handicapped spot were right beside a set of stairs. Our lodging was not even in the main building. The young man at the front desk, carried in our luggage and dropped it in front of the room door before we could inspect the facility. The "suite" (room 101), was dingy, dark, and small. Since we arrived late after a long drive, we were not really able to do much but get some rest. Our location was beside some electrical type doors and the room had a lovely view of two intersecting roads and a tree. The closet doors were broken, we had to disable a flashing, broken phone, the doors creaked, and there was a tiny weird bathroom. Hubby suggested this was reminiscent of an old dorm room. The furnishings were dated and there wasn't much in the way of amenities which one would expect in any hotel (soaps, towels (2), etc). Our room was not made up on the second night and when I inquired at the desk, I was told that they don't do that unless the sign is out. "What sign?" I asked...there wasn't one. Because the experience was so bad, we did not even seek out the pool or any other places in the hotel that we might have enjoyed. We just wanted to leave asap. Except for a friendly staff, and an ok very basic breakfast, this hotel in our opinion has no redeeming qualities and is certainly not worth the obscene cost.

The hotel is located near a small river, very easy to drive to. The rooms are clean and we appreciate our room as quiet! Stayed for one night. Parking is very good. Check-in and out is very efficient and enjoyed our pleasant and restful sleep!

Great hotel, good amenities, friendly personnel especially Prem Patel who goes out of her way to make hotel guests happy .
