Heritage Hotel Rockhampton

My room was on a balcony shared with noisy neighbours and my room was a rather small and cramped. However it was clean and tidy and very reasonable value for money

The room was dirty and smelly. The aircon turned on but not much air came out so i checked the filter which was totally clogged. The TV had no remote. The verandah door had the glass almost falling out of it. The shared showers ((womens ) were dirtier and moldier than the worst caravan park i have ever stayed at. There was no water for the kettle, the tap water in the toilets tastes of old plumbing,so i went down to the bar to buy some water anly to be told they don't sell water, i would have to go to Subway to buy some. There is no lift so it is a lot of stairs to haul your luggage to the top floor. If your room faces the river there are thousands of birds that roost in the trees, they sqarked all night. Ok that said, the sheets were clean and the bed comfortable, the doona was a bit on the nose but then it is Rackhampton, so I didn't need to use it.

Copy of the email I sent to the manager minus details that would identify me and my family. We have had no response at all from the heritage booked a table for 4 to have a family meal for mine and my daughters birthday. We ordered a cheesy garlic bread, 2 x chicken burger meals, a fish of the day and a rib steak and veggies with garlic calamari topper for a total of $114 (plus a few rounds of drinks on top) The steak was the first meal delivered to the table but was missing the calamari topper.  I flagged down a waiter to explain and he said he would get it straight away. The other meals arrived and we started to eat with me thinking my topper won't be far away.  I finished everything on my plate with the exception of the steak as I wanted the topper I paid for with it.  I got the attention of another waitress who also said she would get ut straight away.  Another 15mins goes by and finally the topper is brought to the table but of course by this time the steak is dead cold and I'm very angry about the whole meal.  I told the waiter not to worry and just refund the meal as it was cold and I had lost my appetite because of the stuff around.  The waiter then brought me $6 to cover the topper and at this point we got up and left as we were way to angry to deal with this. I wasn't asking for everything to be refunded just my meal as that was the only meal stuffed up. Regards P.s. I also don't think it's good practice for the cook to dish up salad by just grabbing a fist full with bare hands out of a large bowl and put directly onto a consumer's plate. Yes we did witness this from our table just before we left the establishment. 

I had to wear earplugs as there was a motor running continually outside our room.
