There are many kinds of small animals in the hotel, and man and nature live in harmony. The pool villa booked is calculated on a per capita basis. It is best to bring an extra bed with children. It will take a while to wait for the bus, and you can also take a walk by yourself. The welcome and farewell ceremony at the hotel is very special."

"Amanwella Great experience! There are 30 suites, chatting with the housekeeper. In the past, Europeans, Americans and Indians came the most. This year, Chinese people came a lot. November to April is their peak tourist season, and when the house prices are at their highest, prices can go up. The service is nothing to say. The beach is not suitable for swimming in October. We recommend the safari park and lagoon projects. You can see many birds and animals. The Bhutanese manager is very nice. If you have any needs, tell him and he will arrange it directly. The disadvantage is that it is a bit far from the airport, a 3-3.5 hour drive. Unlike Aman in other countries, airport pick-up and drop-off require additional fees."

"Minimalistic hotel rooms well located off Silent Beach in Tangalle. Nice communal pool and a small amount of rooms makes the villa quite tranquil and never busy. The staff are wonderful and the chef cooks delicious food which is all very reasonably priced. I just recommend you stay away from beef in this country as it’s quite inedible, this seems a common theme whether you’re buying a cheap burger or an expensive beef dish. The only detractions to the accomodation was a foul odour emanating from the shower in the mornings, but it did dissipate thereafter. Also I find there is little point of an in-room safe if it isn’t bolted to the ground. You can literally walk in and pick the safe up and exit the room making it redundant. Rooms are well appointed and well priced for the area given the two luxury alternatives are the Amanwella resort which is quite dated and much more expensive and the Anantara Peace Haven which is more expensive but also a fantastic product. The local beach here is beautiful. I would stay here again, but I expect rooms will be hard to come by as the country lacks 5 star resorts at this time. I would stay here again no doubt and recommend the property."

"Thanks to Ananda and The Last House team for the most wonderful and relaxing few days! We moved to Sri Lanka just before the covid lockdown began and it's great to finally to be able to visit some of this beautiful country. The beach spectacular, the food delicious and falling asleep with the sound of the waves is just so special. Our 2 year old loved collecting flowers from the frangipani trees and seeing the wandering peacocks!"
