Koh Tao Hotels with Rooftop Pools

"We had an amazing stay at this resort. The staff were great and very helpful. They offered a shuttle to and from the pier which was great. They had scooter located right at the hotel to rent which is definitely they way to get around and explore koh Tao, don’t try to get around by vehicle it takes too long. The resort itself was amazing, breakfast was great and because its location up on the hill it made for some really awesome sunset pictures. The restaurant closes at 3 but honestly there are so many great restaurants in town that you will want to head there for dinner. The location might be the best part as koh Tao is a pretty busy little island and so it is nice to get out of the chaos so you can relax a bit in peace. Overall this resort was an amazing experience and I would definitely stay here again. Don’t listen to some of the other reviews, I was skeptical about staying here after I had read some of the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised once we got to the resort."

"It was amazing time in Lub D hotel in Koh Tao. Super friendly staff provided support on every step: transfer from and to pier, new and clean rooms, very good breakfasts, every day some interesting entertainment, swimming pool, snorkeling, kayaking, diving, etc. Tanote bay is tropical paradise. Amazing snorkeling starts immediately when you step in water. Also you can find several good restaurants on the beach with affordable prices. Only one disadvantage - always not enough days in this lovely place."

"Beautiful hotel all rooms can see sun set and amazing view, large room, Hotel located on the hill at Tao Thong bay good place to stay if u not prefer crowded area. If u want to go Sairee beach it’s about 10-15 mins by taxi or motor bike. Reception team very helpful and fast response for all my requirements. Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"I stayed here for two days in Koh Tao ten years ago and was impressed, so I chose this place again this time. Advantages: halfway up the mountain, very quiet, unbeatable balcony view, family room with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, spacious room. Disadvantages: the water heater needs to be turned on by the air conditioner and it is slow to heat up, the location is slightly off, the slope at the entrance is very steep, climbing up and down is very tiring, but it is also an interesting experience, and the hotel takes too long to serve the food. An extra quilt costs 200 pigs."

"Trusted the description of the hotel and was wrong. About the pros, clean room, updated walls and furniture inside the room, comfortable bed, large room, water, tea, coffee, great staff, visually clean pool, walk from the pier, relatively secluded. Now about the cons, took a room with access to the pool, the floor in the exit area, the paint is bought off, the bench in the exit area is split, the mattresses on the sun loungers are old, on the side of the room, but visible from the sun lounger and the windows of the room there were garbage containers, and around them a mountain of plastic bottles. The children in the pool played in such a way as to interfere with a relaxing holiday as much as possible, jumping from your area by the pool or nearby, I had to make a remark, in the morning they played football, incl. running through the room area. There is a construction site nearby, to the left of the bungalow and room area. Perhaps it is quieter higher up. In general, the hotel is apparently for families. Breakfast was enough for me. I stayed for one night and changed the hotel."

"Even though it’s located a bit out of the way they have free transport services throughout the day to get to town. Also free transfer from the ferry. Great view points from pretty much everywhere in the resort. There’s a snorkelling point right at the bottom of the resort and kayaks available for hire which I thought was a good touch."

"I would not recommend staying at Sairee Hut Resort. The place is extremely run down. Our room had no hot water, the shower drain was clogged and overflowing, and mosquitoes filled the room, making it uncomfortable to sleep. However, what bothered me most was the resort’s treatment of animals. They keep wild birds confined in small cages out front, with barely any room to move, let alone fly. I’m not sure if this is cultural or meant for tourist entertainment since the birds can talk, but whatever the reason, it is cruel! Birds are meant to be free, not locked in cages for display. These birds were kept in the cages for the entire duration of our stay, and I can only imagine how long they’ve been trapped there. Overall, this resort was disappointing, both in its facilities and ethics. I would not stay here again."

"Bans! Been in and out this place throughout the years since 2015 and kept coming back wether I dive or just having a chill trip in koh tao. Bans, was by far MY FAV for many reasons. Location is great, big resorts, i am in love with pool with cafe (behind the lake) and their outdoor shower + amenities! I enjoy my morning dips, my painting session, my coffee and books afternoon. Just this time round, it was just a tad different feelings and experience. Mostly are still great but theres confusion of the room booked and the actual room itself (i reckon website needs to be updated and clearer details) and a minor incident where I have to pay additional 1 night just because the reception didn’t remember that Ive paid which partly my fault for not asking receipt and or prove of payment. Also, Bans used to be having such a great team member in service but ive came across some that’s quite cold and impatient unfortunately this time round unfortunately. sad 😢 and last thing my room floor were sandy meaning the room cleaning isnt that immaculate. Hopefully, next time I go back “home” this feeling was just such indifference and bans will still be me fav."

"Cape Shark Villas is a complex of villas with hotel service (daily cleaning, free scheduled transfer to the pier, food ordering to the room). We stayed at C1 Deluxe Villa (with a pool), 6 people. The accommodation was in two buildings - the main villa C1 (with two bedrooms, a gazebo, a veranda and a pool) and the guest house C1 nearby. The villa is located next to the reception - convenient when moving around the island by taxi or by hotel transfer. You can walk down to the sea in 3-5 minutes, but the climb back is quite steep. If you travel by bike, then the location on the mountain has only advantages! Excellent views, quiet and amazing privacy with nature! A squirrel, a crab, a small snake and a charming large gecko lived next to us. At first, such a neighborhood was a little shocking, but in 3 days we became friends with them. No need to be afraid - these are additional emotions and memories. Overall, we liked the villa, it was comfortable, clean and at the same time very colorful. Wherever you look, there is a great angle for a photo shoot. We will be happy to stay here next time. Of the minuses - only one bedroom has a sea view and in October there was a warm pool."

"There is so much to say but I will try to be as concise as possible. Ecotao Lodge is a piece of heaven. The hotel is superb, the whole idea that is an ecological establishment run by a family it makes it all worthwhile. The hotel is simple and yet mesmerising. It is very green, the swimming pool area is breathtaking with views to nature and the sea. My husband and I went to Koh Tao for 3 days so we booked two nights at Ecotao Lodge. We decided to treat ourselves so we went for the suite. When we were taken to our room, we spent at least 30 minutes just sitting there in the balcony and bed, looking at the sea. The view was one of the best I have had the opportunity to see. The room was immaculate and with all the commodities one need. We were provided with hand made shower gel, shampoo and conditioner! It is incredible that this hotel has been open only since December 2019. Yves, the owner, runs the hotel along with his friend and staff. What a wonderful man, passionate about the service he offers, always with a smile. Chris, his friend, always there greeting you in the mornings also with a genuine interest to make sure you are well. The staff are so lovely, smiling all the time with the Thai attitude that is so warm about them. As I said, we were there for two nights... Initially that is. After our first night, we were so in love with the place, the atmosphere and the service that we decided to extend our stay for 4 more nights. I could have stayed even more to be honest but sadly I had to carry on with my travelling plans. Yves, Chris and his staff made us feel like a family! I can't wait to go back next year, even for a few days to stay in this little paradise. Bt the way... The food they serve!!!! OMG!!! It is succulent, balanced, fresh... It is just the best. Loved so many dishes I tried but I couldn't let a day pass without having the spring rolls! Hehehehe. Thank you Yves, Chris and your lovely staff (I feel so bad I forgot their names, they were all outstanding). "
