Rotonda Retreat with Heated Pool, Golf, Beaches!

If you're looking for a truly heated pool in Florida’s winter months, this rental is NOT the one. The listing is very misleading. We booked this home for my autistic daughter’s birthday, due to her sensory issues and swimming being very therapeutic for her- I was very upfront about that with the owner. I confirmed five days prior to our stay that the heater would be on & was assured it had been on since early November.When we arrived, the pool was 75 degrees, too cold to be "heated". I messaged the owner immediately and received inconsistent explanations: 1st that the 1 cold night 4 days earlier caused it, then "overcast days” were the issue (not true, I live eight minutes away). After pointing that out, I was told the heater is solar and “doesn’t keep up” in this kind of weather (FL winter) & only runs from 8am-6pm. I was told the details under POOL state it's solar and it was implied that I'm supposed to know upon booking that a solar heater isn't as good as other pool heaters that can keep a pool at 85 degrees, solar cannot. Because of this, my daughter didn’t get the therapeutic pool experience we paid a high price for & her birthday weekend was affected. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because the house itself was clean. Otherwise, the advertising is deceiving and the pool is not reliably heated at all. We booked Fri-Sat and were only there for about 7 hours because it was pointless with the pool so miserably chilly. I wanted to give an informed warning!

On day of arrival, the doors to the pool were old and would not open. We called Alex and the next day he was unable to fix it so we had to use another set of doors. The children did not arrive until 2 days after we arrived. There were cockroaches in the kitchen and bedroom. I scrubbed the place before we left. He had the nerve to charge the insurance company for the door that was broken before we arrived. Run. Do not rent this property

Fantastic! Fantastic! What a great find! We arrived earlier than expected and The host was able to accommodate Early check-in for our large group of 6 adults/4 kiddos. This place was immaculate clean… not just clean… but truly IMMACULATE. Nicely remodeled and decorated interior with a picturesque View of the Golf Course. Spacious lanai area and pool area has 4 lounge chairs for tanning and a dining table for meals outside. We took advantage of the propane grill and grilled often. Everyone loved the pool! This was such a blessing! It was REALLY hot 90 to the point where we didn’t want to venture out. So nice to have the kids entertained while staying put with cold drinks in hand. My wife loved the new kitchen and it had everything we needed. There are 3 TVs and a bookshelf with lots of new games for entertainment for kiddos. The owners manage the property themselves and keep it in tip top shape. Beaches are close by and chairs umbrellas and wagon are provided which is awesome! We truly had a great time and didn’t want to leave. Thank you Alex for a great vacation we will remember for a long time!
