Premier Inn Haverfordwest (North/A40)

The Hotel was a good as it always is bit there is a bit of a problem. It needs some care on the outside. The signs have lights missing and it needs a bit of a clean. I have stayed here a few times and it is definitely starting to look a bit tired. The rooms and staff are amazing though. They do everything they can for you and the rooms are exactly what you'd expect from a premier inn

Was put here a few nights for work. The staff were all very nice during my few interactions. Parking is easy. The Marston’s pub is also what you’d expect. It was quiet which was nice. I think better curtains would help mediate the security lights blasting outside that made it easy to walk around in the middle of the night. The bed was clean and comfortable however there were some really nice stains on the cloth headboard that kept me on one side only. The moldy grout in the shower could use a repair or harder clean. I didn’t pay for a breakfast so can’t comment on food. There is nothing really within an easy 20 min walk other than the Marstons, a Ford dealership, TK Maxx and M&S. The wireless internet is still working on 1989 specifications. Was unable to even load work photos or documents. It worked fine at the pub 200m away so it’s not a “far west Wales” issue. It was probably correct value for the money.

My husband and I arrived just before midnight on 1st June. The receptionist didn't speak to us until she'd opened up her laptop with a miserable sigh, then, as we stood with our suitcases, she asked us if we were checking in! There was still no eye contact until she gave us our room keys and directions to get to said Premier Plus room. No welcome whatsoever. I've used this hotel a few times with no complaints but this visit was very different. When I used the iron I found both it and the underside of the ironing board thick with dust. Similarly, in the bathroom, the skirting and parts of the walls had obviously not been cleaned for weeks. We also had an uncomfortable night trying to sleep as the instruction card for the air conditioning/ heating system bared no resemblance to the actually control panel and so we couldn't reduce the temperature from the 25C it was showing. So having a restful night after travelling from Ireland before continuing our journey home did not happen.

The first room on the ground floor smelt so strongly of damp and the bed linen was so damp to touch I had to make myself go and ask for a change of room. The smell was so strong coming out of the air conditioning I thought I would open the windows- no opening windows. There's black mould in the bathroom.My husband has been admitted to the hospital next door to the acute cardio unit after a critical episode whilst we are on holiday. We were staying over 50 miles away, this was the nearest AnE so have to stay here. The second room is a little better, still has a really horrible strange smell and the bedding and now my clothes are all damp which I really hate. There's black mould in the bathroom. There isn't a working extractor fan in the bathroom so I can't even take any moisture out of the air by window or by putting the extractor on. Utterly unacceptable for the money, utterly unacceptable for any money. I didn't check the reviews as I didn't have any choice, I thought Premier Inn would be basic but comfortable. There has clearly been this terrible problem here for many many months. The receptionist was lovely, helpful and moved me immediately but she had clearly heard it before. I am here now wondering if I can find the headroom to go and demand a dehumidifier. I'm knackered and v stressed and this is the last thing I need 😔

Please do not stay there. It’s dangerous for your health and especially for kids. The rooms are covered with mould! They’re not even trying to hide it so much. A bit of paint over it. The windows are full of condensation after a mild night. Black mould surrounding it. “Scrambled egg” was diluted with water! No taste and perhaps dangerous (?). Disgusting. I really could not care less. People who come to pick up a puppy must stay somewhere. My suggestion, sleep in the car or in the pen with the puppy. At least you won’t get an asthma attack like my son did.

Typical premier inn. Very clean comfortable room with a decent shower. Staff were great. Breakfast had a good cold choice the cooked selection being freshly prepared and well cooked in front of you. Check in was easy with no need for vehicle registration as you need to do elsewhere
