Hotel de Toiras

We stayed here with our 8-week-old baby, hoping for five-star service to match the laid-back, refined elegance of the interiors. Unfortunately, the service team must have been on a completely different holiday. 1. Room allocation genius: We asked for an easy-access room. We got the top floor. No lift. Nothing I enjoy more than paying c.£500 per night for the privilege of dragging a pram, bags, and a newborn up 3 flights of stairs. 2. Complimentary tap water surprise: The “drinking water” in our room had been thoughtfully refilled with hot water — presumably straight from the tap. Because nothing quenches thirst after a long journey quite like a warm glass of eau de boiler. 3. Pastry theatre at breakfast: Breakfast “included” a basket of pastries. Rather than bringing them fresh, the waiter simply gestured to the slightly sad basket already on our table when we arrived (see enclosed picture if you want a laugh). When I questioned this, he waved another basket in my face and demanded to know the problem, since, according to him, the pastries were “exactly the same.” A masterclass in charm. 4. Room service… or not: No menu. No options. Just a €90 bowl of pasta per person. For that price, I half expected it to be served by a celebrity chef while a string quartet played us in. Sadly, it was just pasta. Beautiful interiors can only do so much. The service here felt dismissive, disorganised, and downright unwelcoming. If you’re looking for true five-star hospitality, keep looking.

We love this place and had a wonderful breakfast but I think the manager or owners need a keener eye for detail. The terrace needs attention - we looked out on brown dead plants - this hadn’t just happened overnight and unacceptable. The management team need to water twice a day to keep plants alive in heat. It makes one think - if they can’t keep plants alive what else aren’t they doing? Furthermore table tops on the terrace were cracked and peeling and the parasols were covered in bird poo. The Parasols need to be regularly washed. The coffee was nice and service good though and of course lovely views.

Le Toiras, un hôtel inscrit dans nos rituels de vacances ! C’est un établissement chaleureux et raffiné. Les chambres, toutes différentes, aux ambiances très affirmées, offrent un réel cocon de douceur. Nous y passons des séjours régulièrement et chacun d’entre eux est un souffle d’apaisement. L’équipe est toujours aussi bienveillante, et multiplie les attentions pour chacun. Nous avons également pu expérimenter le restaurant Le George avec la carte de son nouveau chef et avons trouvé cette expérience particulièrement raffinée et creative. L’éclairage y a été adouci, l’ambiance y est à présent feutrée et douce. En résumé, nous recommandons vraiment cet établissement et tenons avec ce petit commentaire à remercier toute l’équipe et son manager, Maxence Ligneuil. Rdv dans quelques mois !

Il n'existe probablement pas de mots suffisamment délicats et raffinés pour décrire à quel point l'"expérience" de l'hotel de Toiras est une expérience magique, exceptionnelle, hors normes. Tout est plus que parfait : l'accueil, l'attention portée à chaque détail, l'échange humain, la décoration, l'atmosphère. Pour les amoureux du beau, des traditions, de l'art de vivre à la française. Un havre d' humanité et de merveilleux, précieux dans le monde de 2025. Mentions spéciales et remerciements appuyés à Manon, Claire et Lucie pour leurs sourires, Marie-Victoire qui rend la vie tellement plus douce, et M Ligneul pour son attentive direction.

Very charming village and a unique feeling

Nous sommes venu dîner en famille le repas était excellent . Nous avons pu faire la connaissance du chef Ronan après avoir manger de délicieux plats . Pour ma part une magnifique dorade royale cuit à la perfection accompagné d’un bon vin blanc chablis Un grand bravo au chef Ronan pour cette dégustation Nous reviendrons très prochainement avec grand plaisir
