Chateau du Palanquey & Spa

I went here with my wife, for 5 nights, to celebrate a”big” birthday and we were not disappointed. This is the most delightful hide away Chateau I am sure you will ever discover in Bordeaux . It is unbelievably tranquil, with the only noise regularly heard being the buzz of the insects, occasionally being interrupted by the odd tractor way in the distance. Melanie and Laurent are exceptional hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The location is wonderful, mingled in the vines , with rolling hills surrounding you. We were blessed with incredible weather, breakfast outside in the morning was fantastic, as was the one time we had dinner, cooked by Laurent. I will not recommend this to anyone, if I do, then they may not have room for my next visit and that would not be acceptable. We stayed in the Vendange Suite, which was roomy, although it would have been a little better had there been an extra cupboard for hanging dresses. The honesty bar is well equipped, as is the cellar. A lot of the food is home grown, its just delightful. Ther pool is a decent size and welcomed as we were experiencing 35 deg C plus temperatures. For a small place, the gym is well equipped, to keep you on top of trying to reduce the calories from all the great food you will be eating.

The hosts made this a wonderful two night stay. Such a cool place and the food was excellent. They have created a relaxing vibe where guests can mingle or keep themselves to themselves in the spacious grounds and common areas.

Such a delightful and comfortable B&B in a thoughtfully renovated small chateau with indoor and outdoor pool, full spa service and friendly service by the owners and their wonderful staff. A haven of peace and tranquility in the vineyards.

Cet endroit est magique au milieu des vignes et d'une nature magnifique - la végétation dans le jardin est soignée et colorée La maison en elle-même est décorée avec goût, les chambres avec soin et authenticité et d'une manière générale très chaleureuse. La cuisine est délicieuse et raffinée, mélange de saveur et de finesse. L'accueil est très agréable, nous nous sentons vite à l'aise. C'est la deuxième fois et surement pas la dernière. Nous recommandons véritablement cette maison qui est une véritable parenthèse enchantée. Merci à vous deux de nous faire passer un moment aussi agréable Chantal & Jean-Jacques

Lovely chateau in fabulous position within a vineyard and surrounded by many more. Perfect for walking or touring. Hosts could not be more welcoming and kindly provided a plate of cold cuts on the evening we arrived though they weren't serving dinner that night. Nice breakfast. Indoor pool is small but pleasant. Eccentric mix of bric a brac and art through the property, Though the bedroom was confortable, some elements weren't practical, such as the massive bedside lamps which provided a hazard when getting up !

Un petit coin de paradis au milieu des vignes dans un magnifique endroit vallonné. De très belles chambres, spacieuses et confortables, la nôtre avec une grande terrasse surplombant la piscine extérieure. Egalement une piscine intérieure chauffée à 30° pour les jours froids (nous y étions en avril). Des salles de jeu (billard, babyfoot, etc..) et de lecture décorées comme un intérieur de chineur et un grand jardin où il fait bon être et ne rien faire. La cuisine de Laurent, lorsqu'il se met aux fourneaux n'a rien à envier à celle des meilleurs restaurants du coin et Mélanie en salle se met en quatre pour vous satisfaire. Tout cela avec leur propre vin ..... rien que du bonheur on vous dit !
