On our final night, someone who was clearly not a hotel guest walked in off the street and made their way through to the poolside where evening entertainment was taking place. This individual pretended to fall near our table and, without us realising, stole my mother-in-law’s purse straight out of her handbag. We only became aware about 20 minutes later when she received a notification from her banking app for a purchase she hadn’t made. We reported it to reception immediately, but they were incredibly unhelpful. They offered no assistance beyond telling us to take a taxi to the police station — at 10:30pm — even though we were due to check out the next morning. There was no offer to contact the police on our behalf, no willingness to check CCTV, and no apology for the clear lack of security on the premises. In total, €40 was spent on her card, €120 was taken in cash, and irreplaceable items like family photos were also stolen. She’s devastated — and understandably so. In addition to the security issue, I feel the need to highlight a few more concerns: 1. Cleanliness Around the Poolside: Rubbish was often left lying around the pool during the day. It seemed like the area was only cleaned early in the morning and late at night — not enough for a busy hotel. 1. Food and Drink: Hot drink and juice machines were often not switched on, and the selection was very limited. On our last night, we had to queue out the door just to be seated for dinner. 1. Facilities: There are only two lifts in this large hotel, and one was constantly out of order. This made getting to and from our room on the fourth floor really difficult, especially with a toddler and buggy. 1. Check-out Policy: All-inclusive ends at 11am sharp, the same time as check-out. Since we didn’t check in until after 5pm on our first day and our transfer wasn’t until 3pm on the last day, we felt short-changed — unable to use the pool or even have lunch before leaving. All in all, this hotel has a lot of improvements to make, particularly around guest safety and customer care. Unfortunately, I would not return or recommend it based on our experience.
