The website photos of the Double Room are out of date. They show 2 single beds and an armchair in the corner, which as a couple is what we wanted. On arrival, we found out that all now have 3 single beds and no armchair. This does not suit us at all, but the hotel refused to remove the bed or provide a chair. We would never have booked this hotel if the pictures had shown how the rooms actually look. Additionally, we had emailed the hotel directly in advance to request a quiet room. However, they allocated us a room directly opposite the entertainments stage. They say all the Pool View rooms are noisy, as they overlook the entertainment. Initially they denied receiving my email until I said I could show them their reply to it. After initial refusals to offer us any alternatives, we were eventually told the only option for a quiet room with an armchair would be to move to an apartment and pay the full upgrade price of 40 euros per night. This was unacceptable to us. It didn’t seem fair, as the hotel room had been misrepresented and we’d also offered to take a downgrade (without asking for a refund) and even to move rooms when a downgrade became available during our 8-night stay, as they said none were available at the time. On checking in, the Reservations Manager told us if we had any issues at all to contact them, as they can’t help if guests don’t let them know. Well, we had issues and found the Customer Service, in particular Ruth Bednar (Front Desk Manager), to be completely unsympathetic and unhelpful. We asked to speak to the General Manager, but were told he was otherwise occupied and unable to speak to us. We found Customer Service to be very reluctant to engage with us at all, once they knew we had some issues - very much a take-it or leave-it attitude.
