Azura Beach Resort - All Inclusive - Adults Only

The resort was a delightful and relaxing space. Our suite was comfortable, the food palatable. We most enjoyed our time on the beach, listening to the waves crashing and taking long walks. I’m so grateful for Luz and Wendy, the concierges and Kayla the restaurant manager. These ladies made our vacation enjoyable.

We couldn’t have asked for a better honeymoon My husband and I chose the Azura Resort in Samara, Costa Rica, for our honeymoon, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into paradise. The resort is a perfect mix of luxury and relaxation, making it an ideal home base to explore the beauty of Costa Rica. While some may find the food service slower than expected, we embraced the “Pura Vida” lifestyle—taking time to enjoy the stunning atmosphere. If you’re in a rush, we recommend McD's ;) otherwise enjoy paradise. The real standout at Azura is the exceptional staff. Roxanna made our trip with her warmth and unmatched attentiveness that made us feel like the most important guests at the resort. She creates connections that go beyond service ＜3 Jonathon always greeted us with a wave and food recommendations that never disappointed. Alejandro wowed us with his incredible cocktails and tipped us off to a nearby spot to see wild monkeys. Jazmine kept the bar lively and fun, ensuring our evenings were full of laughter. Brenda and Hanisey brightened our mornings, serving coffee with sweet smiles and patience as we practiced Spanish. Axel and Danny provided attentive, speedy service, while Lux and Wendy planned excursions we’ll never forget—like seeing whales and dolphins or zip-lining and soaking in hot springs. Roberto, our driver, doubled as an amazing tour guide. He pointed out creatures and sights we’d never have noticed and was a joy to travel with. We’ll miss him and everyone at the Azura dearly.

This is a very mixed review, good and things that can be improved. Let’s go….. Great things in Azura: The resort is beautiful, wildlife present which I loved, no thing better than seeing the ocean but also seeing red squirrels, iguanas, multiple birds, frogs at night, snakes ( in a distance) horses, turtles in the ocean etc. Our room was lovely king sized bed moderately comfortable. Expresso and water machine. They do it give bottled water at this resort stated it is for the environment. Also remote black out blinds beautiful touch. Staff mixed reviews, Staff at Chill and Grill…. 10/10 gave there all 100% of the time. I wish I could remember everyone’s names but they were great! Can’t say enough. Wendy from the concierge service went above what was needed to make my husband’s birthday a huge success. Thanks again Wendy!!!! Christian the driver who picked me ( my husband’s plane was delayed) up. Was great. He made you feel at home, was professional but warm and friendly. Hazel at the pool bar always remember what I wanted to drink, always made with a beautiful smile. However I must mention.. the Chora restaurant next to the Italian restaurant was very interesting the male waiters 9/10 top notch polite, attentive and professional. The young lady that made my omelette was the rudest, most dismissive human that I have been in contact in a long time. Prior to my husband arriving I ate there by my self for 2 days. I said hello with no eye contact or response. When my husband got there he got a slightly better response but still very little response but after my husband tipped on that last day I realized she could look you in the eye and say Thank you… wow but I must say her omelettes were absolutely delicious! There are 4 restaurants to choose from Asian,Italian, and 2 international. Never ate at the Asian but other 3 but solid 7/10 I have a very sensitive palate but my husband who just loves food would give them a 9.5/10. He just loves to eat. Things to improve Housekeeping even though very warm and personable, needs better training to clean in more detail Water temperature was quite cold lukewarm at best, I like my water hot and my husband like his warm we both could not enjoy our showers and by our last day it was downright cold. Insect bites, this I believe is out of the control of the resort, to preserve the wild life you can’t really spray for insects. So if you are sensitive to mosquito bites this is not the resort for you. Unless you bring a large can of Deep Wood Off. And last but not least… absolutely NO evening entertainment. We were ok we came to relax, eat and drink but not a place for a girls trip or any bachelor parties. I know this has been incredibly long but I am doing a review for a close relatives very popular travel blog. I’m summary beautiful hotel with HUGE potential to be a jewel in Costa Rica but needs work.
