"Great hotel with understated elegance and a real touch of luxury. On my recent trip to Uzbekistan, I stayed in several different affordable hotels and guest houses, Hotel Caravan Serail was by far the best one. The cost per night was a little higher than the other places that I stayed but boy what a difference a few extra euros made! The room was super clean and elegant. The bed is very comfortable. Everything was very well maintained. The staff too were excellent, there was a slight mixup with my room initially, but it was dealt with very quickly and professionally. I would highly recommend this hotel as a great option for an affordable place to stay and if I ever visit Samarkand again, I would definitely book this hotel without hesitation. I only stayed one night but wish I had been longer. Oh, the breakfast is pretty good too!"
"Stayed for two consecutive days, the hotel is in the middle, no matter which attraction you go to. The hotel is very clean, the environment is super good, quiet and no noise. The service awareness is strong, the boss personally asked what time to eat breakfast? What to eat for breakfast, there is no taboo. . . For this exclusive service, this respect is a plus. The boss is very humble and asked me with a smile. Where did you go today? How do you feel? Haha, the emotional value provided is full, and the psychological pleasure really feels very good. I want to recommend it to my friends!"
"Потрясающий отель. Уборка номеров каждый день. Вкусный азиатский завтрак шведский стол. Отзывчивый и доброжелательный персонал и хозяева. Удобная кровать. Подогрев пола в ванной комнате. Расположен идеально, с террасы открывается вид на Гур-Эмир. Чувствуешь себя как дома. Обязательно буду рекомендовать."
"I stayed at a hotel in Samarkand City and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is new, very beautiful, and exceptionally clean. Everything was great, and the service overall was very good. The only minor issue I encountered was with one staff member at the reception who was a bit rude. However, this did not affect my overall stay, and I truly enjoyed my time there."
"About 15 minutes walk to Registan Square. About 7 minutes to mini shop. It is located in a residential area in the back of the old town.
The courtyard is comfortable and you can feel the wind in the terrace seat. Breakfast is served individually. It serves quite a lot of fruit.
The room took off the shoes in the corridor. I stayed for 4 nights, but on the 3rd day there was cleaning and towel replacement.
There is a toothbrush in the room but there is no cup.
The air-conditioning is also good. Shower room, suitable hot water flow is good.
Check out on the way back and send it to the train station for free by the car arranged by the owner.
The owner of the inn, the eldest son, is friendly and speaks various English."
"A particularly amazing hotel, the decoration taste is particularly good, breakfast is also very good. Although it is not close to the scenic spot, it is very cheap to take a taxi anyway, and it is very convenient to take a taxi to the scenic spot."
"Great location, good price, and a courtyard.
The triple room was very spacious. I had breakfast for three days, and the variety varied each day, but it was all delicious.
The heated towel rack in the bathroom was very practical, and there were free water dispensers on every floor, so you could always get plenty of water!
The front desk staff was friendly and spoke good English.
It was a great place to stay in Samarkand."
"The room itself is like in the hotel photo, very spacious, beautiful, high ceilings. The bathroom is clean, small, but quite comfortable. Huge bed 2x2m. There is air conditioning, hair dryer works. Of the minuses - the windows overlook the road, and the roads in Samarkand (maybe specifically in this area) are very, very loud, there is an endless stream of cars that never stop honking. It's okay at night, but in the morning even with the window closed you won't sleep for long - if that's important to anyone. Well, and the entrance to the hotel is through the catering hall, but this is probably not so important. Breakfast is there, in the catering hall - continental."
"Colibari Hotel Samarkand – A Cozy Retreat 🌟
Nestled in the historic heart of Samarkand, Colibari Hotel blends modern comfort with classic Uzbek charm. The rooms are clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated, offering a restful escape after exploring the city. The friendly staff provides personalized service, making every guest feel welcome. Enjoy a delightful breakfast on the terrace with stunning city views. Conveniently located near major attractions, this hotel is ideal for a relaxing and authentic Samarkand experience."
"We had one of the best stay in Uzbekistan here in this Old City Samarkand Hotel! Zafar was very kind enough to help us with various questions throughout the whole stay and of course the room was very neat and comfortable, just like it’s shown on the website.
Breakfast was also nice to start a day, traffics a bit chaotic but Yandex taxi makes it easy to get to the main attractions in the city center.
Highly recommend this hotel to stay."

Amazing
GGuest UserFrom the moment I arrived, the host made me feel completely at home — super kind, always smiling, and genuinely helpful with tips about where to go and how to get around. It didn’t feel like just checking into a hostel, more like being welcomed into someone’s home.
The breakfast every morning was such a treat. Fresh, tasty, and prepared with care — the kind of breakfast that actually makes you look forward to waking up early. It gave me the perfect energy to start exploring the city.
The location couldn’t have been better. It’s right in a very convenient spot, close enough to walk to the main sights but still in a peaceful area where you can relax after a busy day. I loved being able to step out and reach Samarkand’s incredible landmarks so easily.
Overall, Old Radio Hostel has such a cozy, warm vibe. Between the amazing host, the delicious food, and the perfect location, it really felt like a home away from home. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a comfortable and authentic stay in Samarkand — I’d definitely stay here again!
GGuest UserExcellent hotel. The rooms and public areas are impeccable. It is felt that great attention to detail is paid here: fresh linen, daily cleaning. Even the busiest corners of the hotel, for example, in the restaurant or by the pool, are tidy. We were greeted warmly, helped with luggage and quickly checked in. The reception staff are always ready to suggest a route, order a taxi. The SPA includes a hamam, sauna, pool, and many procedures to relax. The pool is open until 23:00, spa procedures are by prior reservation, the gym is open 24/7. The hotel is located on the embankment of the rowing canal, the city center is 20 minutes by taxi.
MMladenowskiWe were thoroughly satisfied with our stay at this hotel. Upon arrival, the front desk manager kindly upgraded our room to a suite in celebration of my wife's upcoming birthday—a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for our visit. The suite, featuring a separate bedroom and living room, was impeccably clean and beautifully maintained.
Breakfast was delicious, offering a wide range of continental options. While I would have appreciated more local dishes, the variety and quality were excellent. Both the reception and dining staff were friendly, attentive, and eager to assist. The SPA area and swimming pool were spacious, clean, and designed to offer plenty of privacy, even when other guests were present.
Tip: About 100 meters to the left of the hotel, there’s a fantastic local BBQ restaurant with affordable, tasty food.
A heartfelt thanks to the hotel management and staff for the upgrade and making our stay truly memorable.
GGuest UserThe hotel is almost new and very nice and spotless clean. The only problem is the location is far from the city center. Staff in the reception are helpful but the staff in the bar don’t care about serving guests. I had an incident in the first day I checked in and went to the bar and asked for a drink. After waiting for 10 minutes, I walked up to the counter where two employees were chatting and reminded them of my request. Another 10 minutes passed and I went again to the counter and told them to bring my drink. I was the only guest in the place and the employees weren’t busy except chatting. I was infuriated for their lack of respect and ignoring my presence. It’s only after twenty minutes I got my drink. I paid 10% service charge on top of my bill for very poor service.
GGuest UserGreat 3 nights stay at Movenpick hotel with all amenities. Very convenient and close to the Gour Emir monument (4/5mn by walk) and the Registan square (15/16mn). A lot of cafe and restaurants around the hotel as we didn’t book the hotel breakfast. As we are lazy to dine out, we enjoyed twice diners at the restaurant Caramelle (really juicy manti and tasteful somsa & soups) We tried the sauna (hammam was under reparation) and the fitness. We had pleasant drinks at the pool bar. So we can recommend the Movenpick hotel at Samarkand. And the room rates are very affordable for a 4,5/5* hotel.
GGuest UserThe room is huge and felt more like an apartment. Good heating system and tucked away from the craziness of the city. Only con is that even though it is only 20 or so minutes away from the city, it is absolutely isolated and there’s nowhere to even purchase water or snacks.
KKeaihouziThe hotel lobby service is very average. The bellhops who drove to the lobby door were not enthusiastic and did not greet guests quickly. You had to call them. The check-in staff were also not enthusiastic and inefficient. Shouldn't they be enthusiastic and quick when you stay for two nights and extend your stay the next day? But the woman was impatient and perfunctory👎; the price is not low for local consumption. A very small room costs more than 1,500 RMB a night. Hilton is a five-star hotel, so shouldn't it provide corresponding services? The hotel's hardware facilities are good, but the soft service training is very poor. Because the hotel is remote and similar to a park, the driver who picked us up could not reach the hotel entrance due to the road closure caused by the local sports meeting, and the hotel shuttle bus was needed to take us out. After the bellhops sent us to the parking lot outside, he didn't even bother to help take the luggage out of the car, and just stood there waiting for us to take it ourselves. I really don't understand how the staff are trained. The service is very poor.
MMladenowskiWe were very satisfied with our stay at this hotel. Although it’s rated 4 stars, it offers amenities and service comparable to some 5-star hotels. Our room was spacious, featuring a balcony, a spotless bathroom, and four complimentary bottles of water although we are a couple. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, arranging our private visit to the SPA and swimming pool, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Breakfast was delicious, with a wider and better selection than some nearby 5-star hotels.
The only downsides were the location of the rooms, which are separate from the main building, the absence of an elevator, and open-air corridors connecting the rooms to the dining and SPA areas. This can be uncomfortable during colder months like February, so dressing warmly is advisable.
This hotel is definitely THE BEST DEAL you can find in the area and it's just 10 minutes walk from the main attraction in Samarkand.
JJiniholicIt's really convenient to be able to walk to places like Registan Square. However, it's located down an alley and can be a bit difficult to find. There seems to be more than one way to write the address, so I was a bit worried about using a ride-hailing app. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and when I explained my discomfort in the room, they changed me. Breakfast was very delicious.
-★2 The shower drainage was very poor. There was only one outlet available, so I couldn't use the stand to charge my phone.
RRamonLocation: excellent! It is in the same building complex as the Art Gallery Happy Bird, mentioned in Tripadvisor. Registan is about 300 m away, so after dinner I would walk there to see the illumination.
My room had 2 twin beds, was rather small but comfortable. Upon opening the windows, a cool breeze entered the room. Wi-fi was reliable and there was a water boiler for tea.
Breakfast was abundant and good. The cook, Dishoda, would make me an omelette every morning. In the same building there are restaurants and fast food/ice cream joints.
On my last day I took the train to Khiva, which departs at 11:46. The hotel allowed me to stay in the TV room, with wifi access, water and toilet facilities, for 10 hours after check out. I recommend Hotel Dyor.
