Mariposa Jungle Lodge

We just returned from a fantastic stay at the Mariposa Jungle Lodge. This is our second time staying there. The first trip was 14 years ago when our kids were young. The return visit more than lived up to our expectations. The grounds are beautiful and the cabanas well appointed. The beds are comfortable and, most importantly, the cabanas have A/C. June is quite hot in the jungle and air-conditioning is essential for a comfortable night. We signed up for different adventures each day and enjoyed them all not only for the fun experience but also for the information the guides give on the history and importance of each place in the Mayan culture. The top adventure is the ATM cave which is a must see. We also enjoyed tubing in caves, canoeing and zip-lining.

We stayed here on our honeymoon. While we were only there for a night, the overall experience was incredible. It's a beautiful location, the staff is friendly/prepared and the service is top notch. They also helped coordinate our pick up from the airport and were really accommodating during the reservation process. Cannot recommend enough!

We stayed at Mariposa for three nights and loved it. We usually rent Airbnbs and do our own tour planning and driving. This time, we set everything up through Mariposa, and the staff did a fantastic job giving us the best vacation, ever. From being picked up promptly at the airport to having custom menus planned (hubby is gluten-free) to breathtaking private tours, we felt truly well cared for. We've been to many countries in Central America but Belize - in particular this area - has become our favorite, and where we want to visit again and again. The lodging is cozy and comfortable, grounds very walkable and lush, and the food delicious and varied. You can tell the staff loves the lodge and is proud of Belize. Everyone we came in contact with was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful trip!

Mariposa Jungle Lodge is a beautiful place with wonderful staff and excellent food and drinks. Upon arrival staff took our luggage to our room while we enjoyed our complimentary arrival rum punch at the bar. We didn't purchase the meal plan since we had scheduled tours every day. We enjoyed coffee in the mornings at the bar and ordered dinner from the menu every evening. The meals we enjoyed were healthy and tasty. Our room was well equipped with air conditioning, a hammock, and a mini fridge. Our only complaint is the the bed was too firm for us side sleepers.

The Mariposa Jungle Lodge is truly a hidden gem! My family of five (including three adult children) spent a few wonderful nights here, and we were thoroughly impressed. We stayed in a cozy family suite—while it was a bit snug, it added to the charm of the experience. The serene jungle setting was incredibly peaceful and relaxing, offering a perfect escape from the bustle of daily life. The lodge offers a variety of thoughtful amenities, such as bird-watching platforms, binoculars, and hiking and birding books for guests to use. There’s even a community TV room stocked with videos, which was a nice touch. Although the pool was a lovely spot to relax and read, it wasn’t heated and was a bit too chilly for us to swim. We opted for the meal plan, which I highly recommend since there aren’t nearby dining options. The freshly prepared breakfasts and dinners were absolutely excellent, showcasing the lodge’s commitment to quality. The on-site bar serves a good selection of beer, wine, and mixed cocktails, perfect for unwinding in the evening. A special shoutout goes to the wait staff, Leonel and Robbie, who were exceptionally attentive and ensured we felt well taken care of throughout our stay. Their warm and friendly service truly stood out. Overall, I would highly recommend the Mariposa Jungle Lodge as an ideal mainland retreat. It’s a unique, tranquil destination that combines natural beauty with excellent service and amenities.
