Grand Hotel Cocumella

I can’t say enough about this charming luxury resort. The service was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before. The concierge Giuseppe helped us plan excursions and our visit long before we arrived. Achilles in the restaurant was kind and helpful. So many more that I would love to name! The front desk, the bar, the breakfast staff, housekeeping… Everyone just went above and beyond. I’ve never felt so welcome at a place that wasn’t home before. Then you added the beauty of the location and the excellent accommodations and food, just wow!We will definitely be back soon!

I can't say enough good things about our stay—this hotel far exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and taken care of. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was warm and inviting. But what really made our stay special was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, professional, and eager to help. A special thank you to Giuseppe at the concierge desk, who went above and beyond to make our trip seamless. He helped us with everything from dinner reservations to local recommendations, with genuine interest in making sure we had a great time. Room 231 is amazing. Thank you for making our stay truly special!

I have had the most lovely several days in sorrento on a solo trip and that is primarily because of this hotel. The staff is so lovely and attentive. The grounds are stunning. The beach access at the bottom of the cliff is heavenly. I love the dining staff, the food has been extraordinarily fresh and innovative. Being there, living at that place for several days , is a highlight among all of my lodging experiences I have ever had. And I have traveled to six continents over three decades. I want to reiterate- lovely, lovely staff. Arrivederci. Until we meet again. We WILL meet again.

We loved the architecture and setting of La Cocumella and its history from the late 1500s. We enjoyed the pool and beach area a couple of times during our 8 night stay, although it was early in the season. The gardens are lovely and serene and we enjoyed that oasis of calm. The breakfasts were amazing — everything from fresh fruits, freshly baked pastries, cheeses and meats/fish, cereals, yogurts, and a cooking station where eggs were cooked on demand. It was probably the best breakfast buffet I’ve ever seen. We ate in the pretty dining room on our first night and enjoyed it immensely. We were also thrilled with the female saxophone player who played during dinner- a lovely touch! Giuseppe, the concierge, who has been working there for 30 years was outstanding and very helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is 2 km from downtown. My only less positive comments were in contrast to other five star resorts. 1) Bottled water was provided in our room on our first night only. After that we had to order it from the bar for 5 euros. This is in contrast to every other 5 star resort we stayed in that supplied bottled water every day. I think this is a minimum expectation to provide drinking water for guests. 2) the carpet runners in the upstairs halls (we were on the 2nd floor) were looking a little weathered and in need of replacement. Once again - just a minor observation that we both made but given this is a well known, historic hotel, it brought our overall rating just a touch

What a fabulous hotel! Great location! Incredible staff! We were upgraded to a beautiful spacious room that was gorgeous! The restaurant was great for both breakfast and dinner! Our thanks to Guissepe, the best concierge on the planet!! The hotel is not in the town which we liked! The hotel has a shuttle that took us into Sorrento which is only 5 minutes away. A beautiful pool area and spa too!

Sono rientrata da qualche settimana dal soggiorno alla Cocumella. Nonostante siano passati giorni pieni di lavoro ed impegni, non dimentico l'aspetto più speciale di quei tre giorni. L'ascolto. Il direttore ha accolto ogni suggerimento e realizzato ogni desiderio anche se la struttura non era ancora pronta per la stagione calda, ha avuto l'accortezza di rendere giustizia alla storia centenaria di accoglienza di questo luogo incantevole. Non solo si respira la stessa aria respirata dagli ospiti illustri del passato, Mary Shelley o Sigmund Freud per citarne qualcuno, ma è ancora possibile tornare ai ritmi umani e pacifici che caratterizzavano i soggiorni del passato. Ogni angolo della struttura è infatti disegnato per ritagliarsi dei momenti di pace e contemplazione di bellezza rara. Grazie a tutto lo staff e al Signor Mario De Martino che è elegante non solo nell'abito.
