We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Belvedere! We spent our first night hiking the magna via Francigena in Santa Cristina Gela and had a fantastic night. It is a lovely town full of very nice welcoming people. Belvedere was wonderful- the rooms are simple but very comfortable, the food in the restaurant is incredible, and the hosts Giovanni and Mima totally made our trip. They are friendly, informative, and made us feel very welcome and at ease. We hope to be back! Highly recommend a stop here.

We had the great fortune to stay at this hotel during our walk along the Magna via Francigena. It was such a warm and welcoming hotel. The owners were so friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding -- we had breakfast, lunch and dinner including large portions of pizza and pasta. The room was spacious with a nice hot shower, everything needed to prepare for a long day of hiking. The town was charming. Pretty much everything we had hoped for our annual pilgrimage.

Excellent stay in Santa Cristina Gela. Very well looked after, including a special offer for those on the Vie Francigene pilgrim trail (dinner, bed and breakfast). Hit the road next day in great spirits!

We walked to Albergo Belevedere from Palermo at the start of our 17 day trek across Sicily in April, 2023. Mimma and Giovanni greeted us so warmly that we felt at home right away. In fact, before we even realized what was happening, Giovanni had carried our packs up to our room for us, perhaps having realized how exhausted we really were. Our room (and the entire hotel) was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. We were able to wash out some clothing and they helped us hang it so that it would be sure to dry by morning. Dinner was lovely with tasty pasta and a large salad, and breakfast the next morning included all sorts of tempting and fortifying choices, including locally grown, very sweet and juicy oranges. But the real highlight of our stay was being together with Giovanni and Mimma, both of whom were so genuine, caring and warm. You could never have guessed that we were just transient pilgrims, staying for only one night, soon to pass out of their lives and be replaced by the next day's guests. What a truly wonderful experience we had with them!

Don't be fooled by the owner's somewhat abrupt manner, if you are traveling you will find a welcoming place, a family atmosphere, cleanliness and a plentiful breakfast. the family dinner with the owners crowns the experience. A true welcome worthy of a stopover. Thank you

Arrivando in 12 come prima tappa della via Francigena, avevamo prenotato con mesi di anticipo: due camere da 3 e una da 6. Abbiamo però scoperto che la camera da 6 aveva 3 letti a castello, con pochissimo spazio libero. Inoltre, stando sdraiati nel letto di sotto ci si trovava col naso ad una spanna esatta da quello soprastante! Richiesto se non potesse sistemarci un po' meglio, Giovanni ha affermato che l'albergo era pieno, anche se non avevamo visto nessun altro cliente in giro. Poi abbiamo visto solo una coppia di ospiti, quindi almeno un'altra camera libera c'era di sicuro). La cena è stata appena sufficiente: insalata mista e pasta con passata di pomodoro e olive. Vino della casa da dimenticare, ma un ottimo cannolo come chiusura. Buona accoglienza e cortesia da parte della signora, ma punte di insofferente scortesia da Giovanni.

Wir waren auf der Magna Via Francegina unterwegs und kamen bei Giovanni und Mimma an! Welch herzlicher Empfang! Wein in der Sonne serviert! Zimmer mit Balkon, absolut.sauber, groß und angenehm! Auch das Abendessen ebenso das Frühstück: sehr persönlich, sehr herzlich und alle Wünsche erfüllt! Besonders erwähnenswert die Cannolo zum Dessert: selbstgemacht und mega lecker!
