I never write reviews due to time constraints. However if you are like me and some of the thousands of local Marriot Bonvoy ambassadors / Titanium members: being treated horribly at most properties these days , this hotel takes the cake as one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I don’t know if it’s Spain being fed up with tourists, or W and marriot properties in general. Your loyalty these days is met with combativeness as to how dare you even expect your benefits. My stay: Had my team context this property numerous times ahead of time to ensure smooth Checkin, upgrade availability, late checkout. To start as usual: room upgrade denied both at suite night reward level 1 week in advance (despite all rooms being available) and then again at Checkin. Had to fight tooth and nail for the upgrade and finally got it after 10 phone calls and a 2H wait for them to clean the room. Both my assistant and I reached out numerous times were requesting a late checkout as it was my 24 hours in Ibiza Checkout Phones in the too. Don’t work so their only way to communicate is to bang on your door at 10am (I got into my room at 5pm the day before) they demanded that I leave. I explained I’m titanium 3 times: and that I requested a 4pm checkout at booking and at Checkin. they continued to tell me I need to leave. Then spent 2 hours explaining marriot Bonvoy to the manager (hotel ie half empty by the way) Finally 3:40pm 2 people come knocking in my door again acting concerned (my do not disturb was on) yet they STILL harass you. Basically 20h in ibiza after 3 flight delays, took 48h to get there, wasn’t able to get a decent nights sleep, and just faced rude harassment repeatedly. Marriot loyalty had run its course: not only do you not get your benefits there is a disdain for those who ask for them and almost a vengeful battle and adamant to not provide the benefit as if we are trying to take something for free. I was ambassador for the last 2 years spending 100,000 a year with marriot between myself and my teams: yet they think we are getting something huge for an upgrade for a late checkout. The system is broken and frankly illegal; where they advertise said loyal benefits, then withhold it even when available; and frankly treat your worse than a standard hotel. $1000 a night and literally treated like as if I was there to squat in what is an average and empty hotel. So: I do not say this lightly: I DO NOT recommend starting here: low eq Neanderthal staff. They don’t listen, they couldn’t care less about your experience and frankly this is the theme in Europe. They made me regret visiting ibiza: that’s how horrible of an experience it was. Domineering bullying bravado in the hospitality industry: complete joke.
