Le Petit Greek

This boutique hotel was perfect in every way. From the large bedroom, secondary room that lead to a patio and had an extra sink and suitcase storage, and the bathroom, it was comfortable and cozy all at once. The AC worked great and the owner, Thomas, was unbelievably helpful in navigating us around, getting shuttles, restaurant suggestions and cooking us a delicious breakfast which we ate on the roof overlooking the sea and cruise ships. He even turned on the AC for us every afternoon so the room would cool off and made us a special early morning pot of coffee and a 'to go' breakfast because we had to leave early for a flight. The hotel is right along the path to the town (sort of because we turned down wrong streets) but the main shopping district is about 1/2 mile away. Note: it's downhill to the shopping which means it's uphill home. But Santorini will never be accused of being flat. We could not have asked for better accommodations in Santorini.

Our honeymoon experience at Le Petit Greek was magnificent. Thomas was the best host we have ever had while traveling. I felt like I had met a long lost friend. He plays the role of chef, host, and travel planner exceptionally well. The location is superb because it is approximately a 5 minute walk north of the busy city center of Fira so it is quiet and away from the mobs of tourists, yet extremely close to everything. The building which only contains 6 very clean rooms has a tremendous terrace view overlooking the caldera where you start your day eating a fantastic breakfast. I would recommend Le Petit Greek to anyone staying in Santorini.

My wife and I had planned to stay in another close by boutique hotel but they did not have a room for the whole length of our visit. We ended up selecting Le Petite Greek given the positive reviews, the promise of a nice breakfast included with the room, and the benefit of having a host give local tips on what to see and where to go. I am so glad the other hotel was full. Our stay could not have been more pleasant. The positive experience started even before we arrived at the hotel. I had booked a transfer from the ferry port to the hotel for 45 euros with a taxis service that cancelled due to delays with the ferry. Thomas (the proprietor) had given me his cell phone number in the email exchanges before our arrival and encouraged me to call if I needed anything. We called him during the chaos of disembarking and within 10 minutes he had gotten a friend who runs a transfer service to add us to his driver’s list and we had a ride! I still have no idea how he got this done so quickly in the chaos of 300+ people scrambling to find a ride but we are very grateful. Extra bonus the ride was 15 euros cheaper than the taxis. We were not able to get one of the rooms with a view but, in the end, I am glad we did not. It encouraged use to use the rooftop seating area regularly. The shared roof space provided use the chance to interact with Thomas on a regular basis and enjoy the breathtaking view from the open air of the roof. Thomas was kind enough to offer little refreshing snacks during many of these visits (e.g. toasted bread, cheese, and olive spread with Ouzu or a glass of wine). Thomas was very thoughtful in, when we wanted it, sitting with us and giving us an insider’s scoop on the local restaurants, wineries, or how to best plan out our days (often based on how many cruise ships were present). These tips helped us find hidden gems during our trip we would have definitely missed without a local’s guidance. Our friends staying at the other hotel told us they never saw the staff after checking in. The breakfasts were so good. The food had the best presentation of any of the restaurants we ate at during our trip and tasted as good as it looked. It often included coffee (we are from the USA so Thomas knew we needed caffeine in the AM), a plate of yogurt with fresh fruit and honey, and a protein. It really was delicious food presented in a way that showed how much they care about guests having a good experience. Thomas was even kind enough to make us an early breakfast for one of the mornings and have coffee waiting for us on our last morning when we had to leave at 0700 for the airport. Very thoughtful. If you are new to Santorini and are ok with passing up on an infinity pool Instagram photo at your hotel, do yourself a favor and consider staying at Le Petite Greek. If we get a chance to return to Santorini, we will be coming back.

Views from the roof terrace are wonderful , accessible any time of the day or night. We would often return late afternoon and have drinks on the terrace on our own. Rooms are kept very clean with a housekeeper who is the best. But the hotel exceeds just the accommodation and stunning views with Thomas the owner and breakfast chef being a superb host and gentlemen, advice and suggestions you simply can’t get anywhere, ask Thomas and he’s an encyclopaedia of the island and the people he knows. He can provide you with ideas every day at breakfast if you want or do your own thing. The location is a 5 min walk to the cable car, very close to everything you need in Fira. Be prepared as it’s on the Caldera the taxi can’t access the hotel, but that goes for all hotels with such great views. We originally looked for a hotel with a pool, I’m pleased we didn’t bother and chose to stay with Thomas in his family hotel. I can’t recommend this enough, it’s not just about the views, the location, the cleanliness but adding friendliness and knowledge of Thomas and his team makes it the perfect place to stay in Fira.

Enchanting,Peaceful and Serene! The 5 days spent at La Petit Greek was one of the highlights of my life. Thomas, our host along with his wife Adeline give Indivual attention to all of their guests. . A freshly made breakfast each morning on the terrace with the sun and the views was an everlasting experience. Thomas always has the time to answer questions and give suggestions about where to go and what to do in Santorini. The rooms are spacious comfortable and unique. The views are spectacular. Its the perfect place! Its magical!

Thomas is very Great and he helped us in every way he could. He helped us planning each day of trip and also made few arrangements. The room was very well decorated. The view from the property and breakfast is great.
